second row, far right, who is that headless model??

those are all herb ritts?

I really don't know who she is, and yes, every pic was shot by Herb Ritts.

If you wanted to be a catwalk model but without the boob flashing you could go on Prada as Prada clothes are so modest and I've never seen a boob on the runway!

It happens at Prada too, e.g., Louise's third exit for Spring 2003.

i do think that Kate has gone overboard at times though like the W editorial with the full frontal. I have no problem with nudity provided you dont have a full frontal shot kind of like the difference between mainstream movies and those soft p*rn movies

it's kind of ironic, when you think about naked ads for CLOTHING companies...does that not defeat the whole purpose????

In my Pop mag with Christina Ricci on the cover has an ed were the models a wearing fragrances.

maybe it's meant to be ironic?

*sigh* well I read all of these posts, and apart from being appalled by the terrible grammar by some of the people throwing their weight around, i'm rather shocked at the way that Gemma is being discriminated against for her body.

For a start, those pictures are rather old. She is a nice B cup. Just look at the obsession ads to see what a truly gorgeous body she has. Although her body is way above anything I could ever achieve, she is so thin and leggy, tall and toned, I still like the fact that there are many models who represent normal breast sizes that are proportional to the body. It is very rare for a thin tall woman to have C+ cup breasts.

I personally don't think she has a 12 year old's body. I think she has a delicate and feminine body, all the more feminine because it is fragile and slim and has no masculinity about it. I don't see her as selling sex, I see her as selling a dream, an almost untouchable state of existance. It makes people crave the clothes. People do not buy the clothes because of the sex appeal but because of the illusion of perfection that it gives.

Every time I see Gemma model clothing, I want to buy it. I cannot say the same for Gisele for example. I have a big hangup about the size of my breasts, sure, sometimes i'd like them to be fuller, more rounded, but I have them this size for a reason. They match my body shape. I think that people should be more respectful of this fact.

Also I think that people see Kate Moss as having 'tasteful' nude pictures because she rarely shows any emotion in her pictures...I think it drains a lot of life out of the photos, again creating the ultimate illusion of perfection.

It's interesting that people are so up in arms over 17 year old Gemma Ward's breasts. First, fashion shows are meant to attract attention and often designers do the overtly sexy route to sell their clothing. Having a 17 year old bare her nipples on a catwalk does not constitute child p*rn*gr*phy especially since the majority of people viewing the show are women or gay men- her breasts are lost on both demographics. Second, it's a fashion show...not the pages of Penthouse. Also, I haven't seen any advertisements that I have felt degraded Gemma in anyway. She may be young but I don't see her being taken advantage of in the industry and being made to bare her naked body. And beyond that fashion has a tendancy to celebrate youth and having a young, fresh faced girl like Gemma in the pages of Vogue only reinforces the adolescent look the fashion industry loves. As well I thought the last Tom Ford YSL campaign with Gemma was one of the most beautiful advertisements I had seen in years.

Also, in Japan the legal age limit for nudity in photography is 14, that is also the age at which models are allowed to start erotic p*rn (unless the laws have changed very recently). In some states in America you have to be 21 to start modelling for suggestive images, in Europe it is often 16.
