Olivier Theyskens - Designer

I can't quite form a full opinion, because I can't really see any of the clothes. That said, from what I can see, it seems to be something along the lines of his work at Theory. If it's well merchandised, I can see it possibly doing well enough to sustain itself.

but even phoebe has to work real hard to make her brand happen its takes years look at the row with all the billions they have already before the row got big.

will this adventure give him years to break out to make a sustained business ?

i meant the belgium way lol that does not involve a belt 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️.....more like negotiating and sending him to his room soft soft white euro woke way asking him about his feelings .

^ I could wear the jacket though (If someone gives me ofc). The things I usually wear and the fashion I like is not the same, I don’t like these at all but I could see myself in some lol. My personal taste in clothing doesn’t necessarily match my taste in commentary. Some designers I constantly praise never make it into my closet, even though I love them 😅. I have banal taste in dressing though.

lol “I don’t like these at all but I could see myself in some” is so cute, I love it.

I get it though, of course not everything I like in fashion I would wear either. I’m not sure I’ve experienced the reverse though, where I don’t like the fashion but could see it in my wardrobe.

I could go for a simple white shirt. It'd be nice to have something for such a legendary designer in my closet:)
and yes, that makes sense, it’d be something to treasure. How do you feel about the jackets?

i’m curious to see what the men here think?

There's nothing to talk about here. At the very best, I see a few large work-in-progress suits that don't really add anything to the image of contemporary menswear. Even as an ardent supporter of Theyskens, I found the menswear looks he presented at Azzaro absolutely dreadful - If anything at all, they served as a lazy afterthought of the womenswear, to describe it rather politely.

If you want deconstructed suiting experiments for men with visible basting stitches, go to Nicolas Andreas Taralis for an actual product.

yeah this just looks... half-***ed and forgot-my-homework-was-due-today.

Hard to tell, but feels a bit too Yamamoto-adjacent, right? What you're looking for in a suit is a certain sharpness in the tailoring. All these embellishments feels more like distractions or unnecessary afterthoughts. What are your takes on the collection?

I agree with you all, I just wondered if guys would have a different perspective. It feels like a (deconstructed) shrug.

Oh, didn’t see this before I replied. I also thought of Yamamoto, and yeah all of the the extra bits feel like they’re there for the sake of it. He needs that Armani quote about how elegance can’t be forced through decoration.
