Outlet Shopping

question: does anyone know if there's a relation between the UK's TK Maxx and the USA's TJ Maxx?? And if there isn't, which came first?

yup, same store, same ownership, though i hear that the ones in the US have better stuff. don't know which came first.

I think it varies as to which has better stuff. I have heard of some people finding great designer items in TJ Maxx's in other parts of he country...however, I have looked in the TJ Maxx here maybe three times hoping for something nice and literally all they have is the stuff by junk brands that retailed for $30 anyways.

And if they're under the same ownership, why the heck was "TJ" changed to "TK" (or vice versa, since I don't know which was first)??

As for that "Mall" in Italy...I'm definiitely putting this near the top of my list for my visit to Italy next year!! :D

anyone in philadelphia, i popped into the daffy's @ chestnut and 16th today after work. awful. saw 3 maxmara dresses with the tags cut out for $50 each and maybe one pair of coach shoes that weren't painful to look at, the rest was absolute garbage.

Hi, I'm new to the site and looking for some info. I travel internationally a lot and like to look for designer factory outlets. I've been to a lot of the great ones in Italy...Prada, Gucci, Versace, etc.....I'm travelling to Paris in March and wanted to know if anyone knows any good factories to go to. I love Dior and Chanel.

Chanel doesn't have one, at least I dont think so. Coach has our outlets, the problem is, all the stuff in there is the crap noone wants, and normally it's dirty or damaged, none of the new merch goes there unless its like 2 years old.

I want to go to a designer outlet, not like Ralph Lauren but like Dior or Gucci or Fendi or something.

There is a Chanel outlet at Woodbury Commons Outlet (in New York) as well as Gucci, Prada (Space), Dior and Fendi

im telling you, you haven't been outlet shopping until you go to the ones in italy! its heaven!!!!!!!!!!!

At the outlet mall that opened recently in Marysville (north of Seattle) there's Burberry and BCBG-if you search for "Premium Outlets" in Google you can find where these stores are ad there's really good stuff. However I'd love to go to Italy for the outlets there.

are the discounts at the designer outlets any greater than the end of season boutique discounts?

Hi Doba,
If you are in Paris, you can go to La Vallee Village factory outlet. Its a little bit outside of Paris. Its close to the Disneyland Paris. You can maybe go there with a car or train. Its worth a visit. Givenchy, Burberry, max mara, Ferragamo, Longchamp,Christian Lacroix,Celine, and more.. But I have to say, Italian Outlets are much better.
Check out this site http://www.lavalleevillage.com/lavallee/home.asp

There is a Versace and Armani outlet in the suburbs of Chicago, I trek their regularly.

Come to think of it, there is also a Dooney & Bourke and Coach outlet (YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!)

Im planning a trip out there. My two friends and I want to go, mainly to the Dior and Chanel outlet. And the Coach.
