Outlet Shopping

I really have to check out these premium outlets in s. california. The problem is that they're so far from my house... I just hope I can convince someone to take me.

is there any good outlets on the east coast like in ny philly atlanta or nc that has really good stuff like chanel dior gucci
that really is a outlet and not regular price

Woodbury Commons is (I think) the largest outlet mall in the US. It's the only Chanel outlet. There's Dior, Gucci, Space (Prada/Miu Miu), YSL, Fendi, DG, Missoni, Valentino, Bottega Veneta, Versace, Tod's just to name a few.

Where is woodbury commons located exactly? I'm visiting new york next month and plan to do some major bargain shopping.

Oh, and how is century 21?

I found C21 pretty boring...

I found better stuff at tokio 7 and the other used designer stores

is there any outlet department stores like saks or anyother department store that sells all brands like gucci coach dior and all that

and one more question is there a department store outlet that migh sell chanel

Woodbury is about an hour and a half north of NYC. I believe there are busses from Port Authority that will take you there. It's got a good selection of both mid-range and high end outlets (I think it's got the only Chanel outlet in the world). But I think the Italian stuff - Gucci, Prada - is still way overpriced compared to the outlets in Italy, if you can get there.

As for C21, I've always found it to be disappointing, but I'm more into accessories than clothes. You need to be a very small size and have a lot of patience to go through racks and racks of clothes and I've never seen designer bags there, just junk.

mutterlein...unfortunately all of the sales will basically be over by then...:ermm:...

i've done well at century in the past...
but it was so long ago since i have been that i couldn't say...
either way- you just have to check it out...
you never know what you are going to find there...same with all outlets...and sales....
sizing, selection and pricing varies a great deal...

helen F is right- it's def not about accessories ...
it;s about actual clothing...
just hit the designer floor...it's the only thing worth checking...
also- there are designer shoes on the lower level of the shoe area....
check that as well...

just ignore everything else...:p

I went to some Ontario outlets near LA and picked up the cutest, most comfortable ballerina flats, in fact they were so comfortable I ended up getting 3 pairs, all in different colors at Off the Saks 5th Avenue. They're Rebecca Moses Wild for Cashmere and were 60% off the original price.

i went to the wrentham, ma outlets with my sister the other day (since it's only a 20 min drive or so from my house) and neither one of us really came away with anything... i bought some nail polish and we might go back for some colored mascara but that was about it...

i'm sure we could have spent a lot more time there except it was baby stroller mania/hell... it's hard to concentrate on shopping when there are squealing children around every corner..
doesn't exactly help the shopping mindset:ermm:

the burberry outlet there has some beautiful trenches at relatively good prices.. one of which i was sorely tempted to buy but avoided as I bought a trench a couple months ago :innocent:

I heard SOMETHING about a bus but I cant locate one, being that Im not about to schelp all the way out there for no reason. A bus would be nice b/c I can sleep, and lay around.

It has the only Chanel in USA, there's one in France I believe.

Found the bus http://www.expresstrails.com/

Rather pricey, Ill drive then.

Yes, I've been. It's actually called a "stockhaus", because it's a liquidation source for many different brands...not an outlet store for just one designer. It's really hit or miss, and depends what you're into. The last time I went there they had losts of men's silk shirts by Versace, some interesting dresses by Ferre, and good handbags by Trussardi.
I went to this place too.. they have several places in roma.. some diorhomme T-shirts cost around 70-90€ pretty ok:-P

where in France? just for those who shoots the tract *in bed with lagerfeld* lol just kidding..
i think the outlet in the state is kinda overstocked...

they have loads of that in italy!

i was invited to the fall presell at last call neiman marcus, thanks to a friendly associate. i went the first day right when they opened and found some great stuff. ysl rive gauche dress shirt, dolce & gabbana henley, gucci dress shirt, prada tie, and 2 pairs of low rise dsquared2 pants (casual & dress.) now i know why you can hardly find anything there, because all the good stuff is picked over before it even makes it on the floor.

Off Saks and Last Call (Neiman Marcus) have some really really good deals on shoes if you find the right ones.

I went shoe shopping a couple days ago and found Vera Wang white shoes for 60 dollars and I bought myself a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes for 55 dollars!!! :)

About Century 21... I've been there quite a large amounts of times and most of the times I came out disappointed. They literally act like you're a herd of cattle and there are so many people there even on weekdays... it's insane. And the experience of buying clothing and bags pretty much disappears, because of how many bags are shoved on racks and how unattractive and unappealing it looks at first. They don't have the BEST deals I would say.

I did pick up a cashmere Valentino wrap for less than 50 dollars and a small Ferragamo silk scarf for 20 dollars, so if you find the right things, it's worth it all.

i think century 21 is worth going to. they have a lot of buried treasures there. the shoe department in an adjacent bldg. always has a lot of marc jacobs shoes.

do NOT take the bus to woodbury commons from port authority. its 40$! totally defeats the purpose of outlet shopping...

there is a train that goes there from penn station. you have to change once. there is also a shuttle ($1.60) that goes from the train to the outlet.

the only way id take the bus would be if its freezing cold out. the shuttle only runs a few times a day.
