Permanent Makeup

oh you make me feel sad.  i have my eyebrows tattoed and everyone tells me they are great now. i used to spend hours plucking them, but it was never that good. now they are in good shape and i don't have to worry much.

I think the tatooed eyeliner looks really cool.
I don't think I would ever do it though. I would
be to scared.

I had a beauty mark right next to my eye that was really pretty but i noticed it was starting to fade. A friend of mine who does permanent makeup offered to tattoo it for me and in the moment I just said sure. 1 minute later it was done.

But...

As she was doing the beauty mark I noticed her eyeliner. It was a really thin black line that gave her eyes a cat like look. You wouldn't notice it standing far away, but her face was so close to mine. I asked her if she could do the same for me. I had the same concerns as all of you, about it looking unnatural and the color changing after a while. She told me that it is black that will turn blue/green eventually and brown should not. So she made a very very thin line at the corner of my eye that kind of lifts my eye, making it cat like.

I did all of this in the spur of the moment, not really thinking. For all of you considering it I would think really carefully b/c it is permanent although it should fade after 3-5 years. Fading also depends on how much time you spend in the sun, and the kinds of products you use on your skin.

As for pain, it didin't hurt at all! For the eyeliner she left a numbing cream on my eyes for about 15 min. I felt a slight discomfort but not pain.

Another thing is that I don't wear any makeup on my eyelids whatsoever so the tattoo doesn't interfere with that. The only thing I used to wear was eyeliner right at the corner of my eyelid and I could never quite get the effect I wanted (I'm AWFUL at applying makeup). Now with the tattoo I save some time. I just put on some lip color and I'm ready to go.

I do not regret it at all, perhaps because it is VERY VERY unnoticeable. It is just a SLIGHT enhancement.

Hope this helps anyone who's been considering it!:D

Micropigmentation
its like a tattoo put in to your skin to create make up.
iv had my eye liner and eyebrows done. I had blonde eyebrows and i think they looked silly so i got some done and they are fab. I wake up every morning with half my makeup already done.

you can pick the colours and how deep you want it aswell. I dont really like the lipstick but im going to get a lip liner. you can also get beauty spots.

its called micropigmentation and i have my eyebrows and eyeliner done. soon to get lipliner. il post some piccis for ya soon.

when iv completed my whole beauty course im going to learn that aswell i think its really great.
people who dont like it just dont understand it.

My mom has her eyebrows done. It looks natural and unnoticeable. She said they use new methods to make permanent makeup look more natural.

My old hair dresser had tattooed eyeliner. It was hilarious because the guy screwed it up and it was really obvious and bumpy.

Wow everyone is so against this! I actually was convinced to get my lips done (lip blush because I have a darker lipline and a pink in the middle -and I wanted one colour all over). It didn't really work at all. I think you are meant to get it like three times but there is only so far my student loan will go! I got it at Debra Robson Lawrence in London.

I am tempted to have eyeliner like this on the outer corners of Angelina Jolie's eyes because I wear this 24/7 anyway. It makes my not very wide, circular eyes look wider.

I would be tempted to do a very very very very, ahem, very thin eyeliner.... but then I would think about a needle being that close to my eyeball and I'd chicken out. Looks like I'm getting up 15 minutes earlier for makeups sake.

my mum is blonde and had her eyebrows done in an orangy/brown colour just so she doesnt look startled..you cant tell they are tattooed at all..my sister who is also blonde has lipliner tattooed in a slightly dark pink (a natural colour) and because her lips are so red naturally it just looks really polished...however i have a aunt who had a huge amount done on the eyebrow area and the eyeliner...she looks scary because its black and very strong.

My BT has permanent makeup and i never realised until she told me! She really looks incredible, nothing like the tattoed makeup you usally see. She has had her eyeliner, shadow, brows and lips done, so the only makeup she applies is blush. however, she says she'd never get it done anywhere but Russia (where she is originally from; we live in Australia) because they are more practised there.

I think it's pretty ridiculous to say that because we don't like it, we "just don't understand it". I look at tattoed makeup and much of it looks fake and tacky. What's not to understand? Once in a while I see it and it looks good, but not often. I totally believe to each their own, if you want to get it done, fine... but don't tell those of us who don't like it that we "just don't get it".

What the hell is it with old Asian (esp Chinese and Korean) women who just HAD to get their eyebrows tattooed on? My Auntie Sue, my friend's grandma, my boss, all of my boss' friends... wth is going on? LADIES, IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD.

I was tempted to get a thin eyeliner as well..thinking at once I had a baby I'd have very little time to do my make up.. I even went to talk with 'the micro pigmentation-lady' ..and chickened out completely.. all the talk about the needle...how a sensitive skin like mine might act, the thought of pain.. not to mention the fact that I didn't think her own 'work' was done good enough made me completely back out..

I don't see a thread on this anywhere so I thought I'd start one.

I was wondering if anyone here has had any permanent makeup done or is knowledgeable about it...I'm not really talking about eyeliner or that type of thing (though it may be the same deal, I have no idea), I mean for skin camouflage/colour correction. I inherited HORRIBLE eye circles from my family, and I have to apply a crapload of concealer and powder all around my eyes every day or I look like a raccoon. I'm not really exaggerating, they are very, very red/purple all the way around from the blood vessels showing through the skin. I hate the amount of time and hassle and the amount of makeup it takes just to make myself look normal (I don't even wear any other makeup on a daily basis because it takes so much time already) and I feel like I'm damaging the skin around my eyes with so much rubbing to put on and remove the makeup and that it will be saggy when I get older. I found one place in Oakville, Ontario (Clinique De Beaute Lilianne) that does dermapigmentation, which is able to correct scars, burns, birthmarks, etc., and they told me it should also be able to correct my circles and that I should come in for a consultation. If I decide to do it I'll go, but I gather that it may not be completely permanent and may fade like a tattoo over time (but hey, I still think that would look better than how I look now) and that I may have to get touchups. Also someone at MAC told me not to do it...but then again she was selling me concealer at the time so I think she may have been biased. :p Anyway, if anyone can give me some advice on this I'd really appreciate it. I'd just love to have the freedom to leave the house in the morning without going through so much hassle and I'd also like to feel better about the way I look. :flower:
