The black & tan are both good--don't care for the other colors. Maybe you can get both?

PS We have a Yay or nay thread in Shoes shoes shoes where you can ask advice about purchases you're contemplating ...

This reminds me of an article I read about women can loosley fall into one of two catagories-a winter dresser,or a summer dresser.

Do you think it might have to do with what the weather is like where you're raised? You're from North Scotland, so it makes sense that winter dressing comes more naturally to you. I always find tourists amusing (sandals and tshirts in early spring, thin waistcoats in the dead of winter:huh:), which shows that even 'cold' and 'warm' are subjective experiences. I definitely have trouble adjusting my style to different climates than the one I'm familiar with. I wanted to visit a friend in Glasgow over winter vacation, and I realized my wardrobe doesn't even cover minus-0 degree temperatures.

I'm also a terrible judge of weather, I often freeze my *** off when I see that it's very sunny outside. Here we call it "sun with teeth", or "sun with fangs" might be a better translation.

I'm not from North Scotland,I've only been here since September ;) .I struggled to cope with the bitter winter that's just passed  I had no idea what to wear for -13c of an evening time, although I very quickly learnt that the more clothes/layers the better :p. I grew up between the South coast of the UK and the south Med so as far as the latter is concerned I should be used to dressing for warm weather  But I definetly agree that where you are raised has a massive effect on how you dress and what weather you are used to.

At least I'm not the only one who is a terrible judge of weather! Last week I left my flat in a warm coat and scarf, only to get downstairs and see my friends in short sleeve tee shirts and shorts

I'm leaning towards black too. And thanks I wasnt sure where to put this.

Dressing for the weather is difficult because it can change so much just in a few hours. You can be appropriately dressed when you set out, but later on, you find yourself completely under or overdressed, depending how the weather has changed.

This reminds me of an article I read about women can loosley fall into one of two catagories-a winter dresser,or a summer dresser. I am most definetly a winter dresser,I stuggle during summer. I can't do 'casual' like shorts with a tee, even when it's really hot I find myself in fitted shirts with a jacket  I think I'm getting better though. I can't ever dress appropriatly. And I'm awful at judging what the weather is like through looking outside through a window,I always get it wrong!

That's interesting, I'd like to read that article! I think I'm probably a summer dresser.. I love being able to wear lots of jewelry and live in white tees or white tank tops, or flowy dresses and skirts. Oh, and I love gold jewelry in the summer! Ahhh... I can't wait until the weather warms up.

I'm definitely more of a summer dresser, and as such I'm pleased that today is the first day of spring, meaning summer is just a short time away! During the winter my wardrobe always seem limited to stuffy coats, pants, and tights, when really I'd feel more comfortable in a light chiffon top and jeans.

It was an article in British Instyle probably about 1 year ago. It featured photos of celebs who fall into either catagory-Victoria Beckham fell into winter dresser for example, and Cameoron Diaz into summer.I've tried looking for it online but so far I haven't found it

I'm a winter dresser fo'sho. I wear my cardigans in the summer

I wear my jackets in summer! My jackets are like armour for me...I feel so fragile without them..I also need contradictions inmy dressing hard/soft.

I have really gotten into loose drawstring dresses, I would like a closet full of them, I will be spending my summer in Paris so I would like 'easy to wear' dresses.

I need to ask a fashion/style question...wearing a one off shoulder top, if the bra strap shows is it ok or a no no? provided that the bra is the same colour as the top? i know some categorize it as tacky but i wanted your views on it?

You weren't after personal preferece but you wanted our views on it? My viewis that it's a no.

I would say a bra strap would ruin the whole one shoulder look.
And lots of people think showing a bra strap is a no no for sure.
It's called underwear for a reason.

definitely not ok...
as broken english says...it ruins the one shoulder look...
what would be the point?
no way

:p

I feel that way about scarves! I always have a scarf on,no matter what the weather,I feel completely lost without one.
