hey, soft, i don't know in proper places..:ninja::( but in the hole i live in, if you go to the places where they sell yarns, the employees of some places do knit what you ask and for not a lot of money, i need to try this myself, soon.. find me a little sandra backlund for myself

dang!...that is exactly what i am thinking of...

thanks for all the ideas lucille-
but i think it's going to show up one of these days...
^_^ ...
i can just feel it...

and the european shows are making me even more sure...
i bet zara will do one...

guys could you help me in finding inspirations? :flower:

I used to have feminine, girly, a bit of "parisienne" wadrobe. now I want to polish it. my motto was "keep it simple", now I want a bit of glamour.
I'm thinking Brigitte Bardot on holiday in St. Tropez, gold hoop earrings, silk scarves as a hair ribbon, Spain...

do you know where I can search for an inspiration? maybe some fashion shows, photoshoots or sth like that?

this picture inspires me:

I would definitely look at spring/summer collections for designers known for their color and patterns like Cavalli, Pucci or Missoni.

HERE, at tfs, that is! Honestly, this is like one-stop fashion inspiration. :flower: You could peruse the threads on "inspiration" in personal style category, or search through pics in the street style for different European cities, etcetc.
It sounds like you just need some well placed, classy accessories to perk your already existing wardrobe up and you'll be good to go! Good for you!

So I really don't know how to dress up for going out at night (which I do so seldom) and still feel like "me," my personal style. I'm guessing it's a matter of trading out certain things for others--like maybe high heels instead of my birkenstocks, or silk instead of cotton? i wonder if it might be easier just to establish a going out uniform and not try to make it personal. any ideas would be much appreciated!

After all these years wondering what people think about me,lo how clothes look in this and that angle, do my legs look fat?, do I look fat...etc I finally feel like free woman!
I don´t think about this stuff anymore, I wear what I want and what I think looks good. My old thinkg feels so stupid now. It is amazing how getting older really makes more comfortable in my own skin if I feel this good now (age of 22) how good I will feel in my 30s or 40s. I know plenty of women who look better in thei 40s than 20s. I hope that happens me too.
Don´t know if this rambling belongs really here but I think it is part of personal stye. Better confidence, better you look.

Since I didn´t wanted to started a new thread for this I´ll ask my question here.

Today I bought a new coat, it´s a combination of a parka and a trenchcoat. But I´m not really sure what to do with the belt. Do you belt your (trench)coat up? If not, what to do with the belt, leave it hanging or just no belt at all?

i think with the belt it's all about the look you want. belted looks more proper, and unbelted a bit more casual.
i always belt my trench coats or sometimes keep it both unbuttoned and without belt if i'm in a hurry.

My current style is rocker/urban/retro/funky/everythingoutsidethebox

I don't follow any certain style by heart.

I take what I like and make it my own.

cool! sounds like you're up there with the best of them!
although i'd love to also see how you put all of these things you mention together...

I put them together with my mind and my mood.

I don't put them all together.

I'm not THAT good.

Just styles I tend to go for. lol

if it's dbl breasted..i like to belt tightly...slightly off to one side...
if i leave it open, i tie the belt in the back...like in a loose, low hanging knot...

:flower:

on the hunt for shorts again...
since the ones i have are too big on me now...
:ermm:...

a cute romper would be nice too...
:p

i am really liking the menswear collections this season...

i'm really wanting to go back to a more androgynous look for some reason...
pants with heels...
no skirts...no ballet flats....

comme des garcons...LIKE THE BOYS!!!...
but always a girl...

i guess it's telling that i just bought an ann demeulemeester t-shirt from the men's dept...
:innocent:...

i am sick of feeling pressured into showing my waist and my curves...
i don't care if it means i will never have a boyfriend...

if i am miserable in my cothes...i'll also never have a boyfriend...
but then i probably won't even have any friends, because i'll be so miserable no one will talk to me...

^

I know what you mean though... I typically stick to yohji/ann/cdg/margiela/etc because it's much closer to my soul, and therefore very comfortable for me. plus, with having androgyny as your 'base' style... as you said, you can always then add a heel, headpiece, or something else as distinctly feminine.

also I think it's really important what you said about if you look miserable in clothes, it comes across as unattractive. it's all about the mood, the vibe of how your outfits make you feel... that's the most important thing. because how you feel in your clothing is the mood you will exude to others! :flower:

sometimes I personally wear things like vintage corsets, garter belts, etc, underneath androgynous or voluminous clothes. they're undetectable/not visible to outside eyes, but they give me a very feminine posture, walk and overall feminine presence, despite the androgynous or menswear clothes I often wear. because it's less about the actual clothing and more about what vibe are you giving off.

I think whatever we really 'feel' is the style we should gravitate toward... then from there, the accessorizing (or lack there of) and customization of a look can be really evolutionary and personal... it's what makes the journey of discovering our unique styles such a fun and endless one imo

I feel no pressure to dress for guys and anything feminine thing I like, I like for myself. I don't even see how that would be appealing anyway if the female clearly looks uncomfortable in what she's wearing. I recently looked at some online article about what men like to see their women in just out of curiousity. Every single outfit description sounded really boring. No wonder I never look at a magazine like Cosmo.
