i bought the apricot bodycon dress on Nora 2 yrs ago but it wasn't a keeper and didn't stay in my mind long enough. The col fit was off.
but I do like his recent use of bleu azur and his recent asymmetrical draped dresses, they seem the right balance of architectural & practical, more fluid.

i agree i am happy to see his house growing and being relevant still, even if it's not the perfect CD driving it but it could have been much worse and cheaper

The store is so beautiful...someone should remove the clothes for the pics, they clash with the beautiful environment!

The new Alaia store is beautiful but in a very bland way that would work with any generic brand at this moment, but I think Alaia is more than that and has characteristics like the above Schiaparelli 21 Place Vendome store. It is so sad that most fashion stores/boutiques nowadays are very similar is a bad way that Pieter's stores just lack the intimate atmosphere and personalities that make a brand like Alaia so special to the women the designer loved.

The new Alaia store is closer to Alaia’s aesthetic than the Schiaparelli store.
Maybe the greatness of Alaia is that he loved contemporary art, great design but wasn’t trying too hard about it.
The new flagship maybe lacks colors but if you look at Alaia’s house, his bedroom and even the little rooms he turned into a hotel in his house, it’s very much in this contemporary nature.

He loved extremely modern things and was very influential in bringing Pierre Paulin back.

Oh I have just realized it's the former Lanvin Homme flagship across the historical Lanvin (femme) flagship, Hermès Faubourg ofc and a very very boring Cartier one.
I loved going there. And I loved the mens tailor ambiance upstairs.
How could they afford this location ?

Alaia's owner, Richemont, is the second biggest luxury group in the world. They're probably expecting for the store to operate at a loss for the first few years before it becomes profitable.
