did i say i would throw it back in her face?
its the way one has been brought up. being invited to a meal is one thing or getting a gift for an occasion but to receive such an amount (which is clearly not a tip) while you are waiting is not right IMO. its not to do with pride but with principles and decency i would say.
i understand she lost 2 dear people and that is very very sad... but with all due respect, that doesnt mean someone has to accept money from her... or does it?![]()
But why wouldn't one accept the money? It's pride isn't it? It's understandable not to take money for sex. But taking a gift from a sponsor to go to college, so you can get better jobs and a better education? I'm sorry but I don't understand why you'd turn the money down. And it would be like throwing it back in her face. Because, afterall, you're saying that you're too good for the money, ne?
I don't understand why it's "Decent" and "Principled" to turn down a gift like that...sorry if I've been brought up so terribly

... thats why i said its not decent. i was always tought NEVER to accept anything for free.(and that in fact nothing in life is free)
