PJ Harvey

White Chalk--best bloody album she's done so far! i love the more orchestral direction she's taken. heavily influenced by the great morricone

Shhhh...she's my avatar!

(No one ever seems to guess that for some reason...)

^ i noticed that awhile ago ;) ... it looks like the PJ of the "To Bring You My Love" era (false lashes and all. i absolutely love that album!). she was so dramatic and theatrical in her look. i'll never forget seeing her perform in a mini skirt and sequined Union Jack bikini!

she's my avatar too.

Hee! I keep thinking about changing my av, but I love that piccie so much.

I have had a few amusing comments about it here though.

"Is that you in your av? Pretty!"
"No, it's PJ Harvey."
"Who?"
"Polly Jean Harvey. She's a musician"
"I've never heard of her..."

I still haven't heard white chalk. Been waiting for it to arrive in the post for weeks. Serves me right for ordering it from Hong Kong or somewhere in order to save money.

LICK MY LEGS, IM ON FIRE!!

classic

actually i think im going to make that my signature

see signature....love the album...just listening to it again after having it tucked away since last year...i do that sometimes...obsessed with it.

has anybody heard the new single from pj and john's new album? black hearted woman....amazing. like a bit of stories...and a bit of white chalk melded. it's really gorgeous.

"Black Hearted Love," the opening track off A Woman A Man Walked By (out March 30), her collaboration with longtime producer John Parish, finds Harvey delivering the brooding, disturbing vocal beauty she's know for: "When you call out my name in rapture / You call out my soul for murder / And you are my black hearted love," Harvey shudders over screeching Sonic Youth-style guitars courtesy of Parish, who also sings backup on the album. It's certainly a promising peek at the duo's upcoming record."

It's flippin' amazing!

pj described the explosiveness of the guitars like something morricone would possibly do.

Oh, I love it!

We need some pictures of her here! She's had so many interesting looks.

Lucky you!
I've seen her in Paris in 2007.
I thought I'd go to see her in London, but apparently according to her official myspace, everything is sold out
:(
