What do you think? Going from the fall 2003 collection, which is your favourite? Mine has to be Spring 2005. I needed a little getting used to it but like anything Prada it has grown on me. Especially after seeing the ad campaigns in the glossies....I can't get over its genius!

why only since fall 2003?...
that's rather random, isn't it?...

I loved Spring 2004...those tye dye sweaters were sooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!and i liked Fall 2004 because everything was so classy but so young that anyone in the world could wear it and look like a million bucks....My favorite ad campaign had to be Spring 2004 because they had 2 of my favorite models..(Daria and Stam)...and i just loved how it looked like a painting...i also enjoyed the Spring 2005 Campaign...just so cool..the poses and all that...i did like alot of the stuff in the SS 05 line but the show itself kinda bothered me.....like the girls eyebrows and the shoes were ick...but the clothes were pretty cute..the dresses were fab.....and Fall Winter 05 was not my favorite either when i first saw it ,but it grew on me...great jackets and the purses were nice too

I liked S/S 04 very much, the tye-died clothes and the summer tweed, but it isn't my fav because of that horrible souvenir print (I love all kind of prints but I couldn't stant that).
I don't know if this season counts or only count the ones after it, but my fav was A/W 03-04, althought it was a little bit to serious, I loved those printed shoes, bags dresses and shirts and the masculine coats and diamond jumpers.

I know it doesn't apply but people do it anyways... heres my post

prada: Spring/Summer 2004 - I loved the runway soundtrack of Beastie Boys just as much as those mini plaid tanks over silk skirts and the tye-dye cardigans!

helmut lang: Autumn/Winter 2004-2005 - I thought his use of color dyed horse hair was very unusual for him compared to the quilted padded techno jackets and utilitarian firefighter uniform suits we are all used to seeing. No one else was doing it at the time too when practicaly every designer was stuck on the fur-stole/broche trendy look.

jil sander: Spring/Summer 2005 - I absolutely loved those sky blue optical prints(not sure what it was) and the coats w/ neck scarfs. I remember looking at some of the coats & couldnt believe they were really leather and not cotton. I read the review after the show and it mentioned that those coats were made out of the finest treated calfskin leather, which was soft as tissue.

Why since Fall 2003? Because I suppose that is the collection that still has some relevance to today....I can't explain this clearly. Anything before that one has become history, i guess.

Jil Sander SS 2005 was absolutely breathtaking! I usually hate ikat prints, but Jil Sanders were so refreshing and beautiful. She had some gorgeous day dressess. As for my choice, I know the latest Prada's Spring collection was slightly controversial, but I loved its rejuvinating take, or challenge rather to the lady. The feathered bucket hats, and the peacock dress obviuosly aren't going to sell, but there was so much choice! The accessories were lovely, the penny loafers alone will definitely create a waiting list, and the patent leather shoes were so cool! I wanted to get a pair of prada loafers, but had to settle for a pair of miu miu ones, and another one I found at Winners (aka TJ Maxx) that obviously weren't prada but looked suspiciosly similar.

I loved spring summer 2004, i wanted the entire collection

It's been my favorite

f/w 05 hands down....it was a return to classic Prada. Everything after f/w 03 seemed so pretentiously quirky to me, very forced, which was why I just didn't like them, but f/w 05 was a wonderful change. So much more sophisticated and effortless.

Why since fall 2003? Prada was best in Spring 2000, the YSL inspiration was classic and so chic.

I definatley think the fall 2004 collections was the best prada collection ive ever seen, the colours, the patterns, the tie-dye, the patent leathr men's shoes, the women's jackets..stunning!!

loved that collection as well...i still wear my lip print skirt:heart:

and the purple ostrich accessories were to die for...

honestly, fall/winter 2003 was the last collection that miuccia didn't rely on a gimmick to forward a new look. but i supposed, to be fair, the global reach of the aesthetic established in fall/winter 2004 makes it most noteworthy among those that came after. spring/summer 2005 caught my attention because it took such a hearty step away from the ladylike trend fashion had obsessed over since fall/winter 2003, so that'd be second. third, would be the grandma/grandpa chic collection of spring/summer 2004 because those clothes were quality although wholly commercial (in a less-than-inventive way). finally, fall/winter 2006 because it's nothing new although i may be more convinced by the end of the season.

i have to agree with mullet...i LOVED f/w03!! i own a couple of pieces from this collection and i probably would have bought more if i had the money!!

Yes, I think my second vote would go to f/w 03, some of the dresses were beautiful (I remember a black silk, 3/4 sleeve backless one and a similar one in beige ombre) and there was a print I absolutely loved, brown, pink and white hexagons (or some shape like that), plus those satin platform pumps were to die for. Aside from the specifics it was just a very "Prada" collection, quirky without being offputting, interesting and very wearable by many people.

But I still stick by my original choice of f/w 05/06...such a breath of fresh air in the color/pattern/ladylike obsessed fashion atmosphere. It was dark, it was elegant, it was clean.....it was just what Prada, and fashion, needed.
