Q&A: Best makeup brands

Best Makeup Lines

What are your favorite makeup lines and why???

My sister just went to Bobbi Brown the other day and the woman said that MAC makeup isn't good because it clogs your pores....don't know how true that is being that she worked for MAC's competition.

Your Thoughts??? :flower:

I don't have one particular favorite line, I just use whatever great products there are from each brands.

Though I tend to prefer Clinique (for their mascara, perfume, skincare products), MAC for the color selection, the amount of pigment in their eyeshadows, and Lancome for their JUICY TUBES.

benefit and prescriptives make up works best for me...too bad it took years and a million dollars of other products to realize it.

Right now - Stila and Dior. But I don't stick to just one brand.

I like Helena Rubinstein. since I live in Finland I have no idea what stila or MAC are like, 'cause they are not sold around here. I have MAC lipgloss, I bought it from an airport at denmark. I love it

do you know if it's possible to order some products from interner?

Most Make up brands have on-line shops..unfortunately not all ship internationally.

I know MAC, Clinique, Laura Mercier, Trish McEvoy and Sephora has on-line shops..but you'll have to check their shipping information to see if they ship to Finland.

The hair and beauty store http://www.hqhair.com does ship internationally as does http://www.amazon.com they have a new beauty section :flower:

I don't just have one brand which I buy.

I like to mix and match and experiment with different products and different brands. I didn't know that MAC could clog your pores though... I always hear raves about them *shrugs*

When you said MAC is bad for your pores, you were talking about their foundations/powders right? I've heard that their foundations are heavy, and I see that MAC is used a lot for TV. So, maybe there is some truth to that.

I've always heard Chanel, Prescriptives and Lancome were some of the best for foundation/powder.

I do like MAC's ebony eye pencil, and their lustre lipsticks. I like Bobbi Brown's lip products and I think their oil-free powder is good too. And of course the Shu Uemura eyelash curler.
Can't say I really prefer one bradn overall though.

i
-stila eyeshadows (especially their palettes) and lip glazes
-mac studio fix
-chanel aqua crayon for eye liner and most chanel make-up
-nars bronzer and eyeshadows
-bobbi brown make-up in general

-chanel (#1)
-paula dorf
-nars
-dior

Blush: Nars
Eyeshadow: MAC
Foundation: Clinique
Lip Gloss: Lancome
Mascara: Maybelline

I  Stila as well, for their cute packaging and all around good products.

i think benefit is a great brand, as well as MAC, lancome, nars, and stila.

Argh, i just went on an anti-animal cruelty site and so many make-up brands have their products tested on animals its horrible, so it looks like all my products are now going to switch to brands like Body shop!
