Raf Simons Leaving Christian Dior; Maria Chiuri Rumored In

I can't say this enough, but I, for one, hope he goes to NOBODY, and just spends 100% of his time, energy, and creativity on his very own menswear line.

Lord knows there's nothing really exciting in menswear right about now, and the Femmes don't really need a new designer anytime soon.

More like he was let go and someone took the opportunity to snap him up. But who that is you will never guess!

Oh the anticipation! Could it be Calvin Klein?

By the way, if Tisci is moving to Dior that would explain the rehashed couture pieces in New York.

Raf Simons cannot work for at least one year as a creative director for an other brand as stated in his contract with Dior. And Phoebe Philo is rumoured to remplace him as she is supposed to quit Céline !

Well, Dior's loss. I'm glad he's leaving at his own terms and with a sense of job well done. In such a short time, he gave Dior such a beautiful breath of fresh air... such a great modern, relevant sensibility. I'll surely miss it.

Hope it won't take long to know his next move. We need his incredible creative mind making amazing clothes as soon as possible!

I hope Lamaire would take over but that seems unlikely given that he previously said he wanted to focus on his own brand...

I never liked his work for Dior but if he were to go to Celine, that I'd like... on paper at least :)

That said, I'm afraid of who's taking over. In the sense that even though I didn't enjoy this Dior at least it was very classic Dior. I fear that the new designer will try to revamp it to fit today's fashion standars of youth, IG and tackyness...

My fashion fantasy: Haider Ackermann taking over! But I don't believe he would sign up for so much creative pressure...

I mean.. I expected it, just not this early. I was somewhat warming up to his collections. The clean looks worked, just not for this brand: Dior's Prefall 2014 collection was probably my favorite along with Fall 2014 and Spring 2014. I'm excited to see what's to come with the brand.

I think it's Riccardo, honestly. His NY show was basically a farewell party, he's already in the family, he can do HC and commercial stuff...

I'm surprised, but on the other hand I got a little suspicious lately, I read a few recent interviews and he was praising Dior and his working conditions there so much that I immediately thought there must be something wrong.

This is just bad news for me and so unexpected! I am a huge fan of his work at Dior and his first couture collection will always have a special place in my books. I really liked the dose of reality he brought on board. It may not have been as avantgarde as what he did at Jil Sander but it still made quiet but big waves IMO. His last show was terrific and it looked as though he had made Dior his own. These musical chairs are beginning to seriously annoy me :(

Very happy for him.. I like that he never succumbed to the ultra corny notion of fashion, 'glamour' and grandiosity that many men expected from him and that he really tried to stick to his rhythm as much as he could. I hope he finds more creative freedom in his own label and I think he should go proud of leaving Dior looking a lot cleaner and more dignified than after John's trash, and I don't mean the scandal, but the actual collections.

Haider can totally do Dior... his work is already straight out of a drug lord mansion documentary, that always sells...

I could see this coming, almost from the start. His tenure had too many up-and-downs in terms of aesthetic and how people received his collections. His last collection really looked like it wasn't made with passion or joy. Though, I'm happy that he thinks his last HC collection was his favourite, because I think so too. It was really fresh and a most "fashion" moment he produced for Dior. I applaud him for taking the challenge, improving Dior and leaving with dignity

I'm really intrigued now with the rumor that he is going somewhere surprising. What could it be?

I don't think it will be Celine... Celine is so tied to the image of a female designer and it's more bohemian than Raf is. I'm worried he would make it look heavy-handed like some Dior collections were. And I don't see Phoebe at Dior.

Let Olivier Theyskens finally do Dior. Though I'm worried time has passed him already... Maybe Dior will follow the trend and choose someone new.

And please... can we stop throwing Haider's name around the topic. He is nothing these days.

I didn't read anything yet cause I'm on my mobile but the first thing that came to my mind is that many people owe Mutterlein an apology because of their reactions when she informed us about this. Can't wait to arrive home an read everything.

I knew it but I'm super impressed.

I don't mind Raf at Dior. I adore some of his creations but at the same there's been no fire or sparks at all. I don't blame him for that. The fashion landscape itself has gone downhill and money is essential. I'm sure he did what he wants and LVMH definitely understands it because I don't think this is the end of their relationship.

Thanks! For those of you in shock over his departure just wait till you find out where he's going!!!!

Oh this...hurts my brain again.

So you want Haider-Gianfranco-Ferré-wannabe-Ackermann or Tisci at Dior, cool. Riccardo has been irrelevant since his first contact with the Kartrashians and all he can do is a sweatshirt. He lost his couture touch to me. And Haider, oh, Haider... his work would be awesome at Chanel, but I think Dior needs someone, who can do modern clothes and romantic at the same time. Can Haider take Dior's codes and remake them? Who knows, but to me this brand deserves someone better like Theyskens.
