Sometimes I'm not sure what to think about the post people make on this board...
Who the hell cares if the models are attractive? Well, apparently you do, but some of us look at fashion shows for the fashion, not the models. I've never understood the fascination people have with models.
Besides attractiveness is quite subjective. I'm sure there are men and women out there who find the model (you decided to single out) attractive.
Its all a business. subjective, cruel, passionate...a business nonetheless.
However, most people who are "fascinated" with models, are people who work directly with them.
bookers, casting agents, agents, scouts, photographers, PR..ect ect.
there are lots of people who sit front row at shows just to view the models, to see 'whos new-whos this-whos that-who do we want' its another job..in this industry.
there are lots of people who are backstage at shows, and who's very job is just to service the models. whether it be hair, make-up, wardrobe, look changers, more photographers, journalist, scouts, you name it.
if their looks didnt matter...they wouldnt have castings, bookers wouldnt have jobs, and every john doe off the street would be in high-end couture.
i personally, dont find that particular model (yes, the one i singled out) 'model material' commerical, editorial, or runway, and I would never send him out on castings, or test shoot for that matter. So i guess it works to have the job i do. And as far as others finding him attractive, well duh. you said it yourself..beauty is subjective.
but i suppose i posted this in the wrong thread, that i do apologise for..i should have used the model i-d one, er something.
alexander mcqueen casts' beautiful ethnic models to walk for his menswear shows...i just dont understand rafs preferences, but after all..they are
his. & i wasnt debating that.
i just dont find dried lips (ashy) or dried hands appropriate, let alone...to be seen on the runway.
PS. i wonder how mario or steven would reply to this
"who the hell cares about models" thought. that'd be quite the battle
