Yes I work in the buying office of a luxury company and I am curious as to how (not to be rude) Joe Blow from Chicago and softgreey are apparently getting all these invites when I know some major buyers are not even getting an extra ticket to take their assistants to the shows.

and have been in the industry since the early 1990's.....
and i also have to request invites for the magazine i work for...


but i agree...
sometimes the way the PR's give out invites seems quite arbitrary...

it can be really annoying and frustrating...

but assistants rarely get invites..
usually they just get to go to whatever their boss doesn't feel like attending...
that's pretty normal actually...

That's how it is for me....but fortunately, my boss will only be attending a few shows...the rest are for me, so my schedule is packed this season, not that I'm complaining!

So far I have: Malandrino, Pamella Roland, Luca Luca, Carolina Herrera, John Varvatos, Monique Lhuillier, Verrier, Peter Som, Lela Rose, PHI, Sari Gueron, Carlos Miele, Cynthia Steffe, Douglas Hannant, Nicole Miller, Rosa Cha, Vivianne Tam, and Zero Maria Cornejo. Ill get more tuesday so ill let u know. Gimme ur list softgrey! what invites do u have?

so far i've gotten a lot of small shows...but i think i'm actually going to be getting most of my tickets like the day of/day before. and i'm probably going to have to resort to swapping tickets with my coworkers or waiting for standing room/extra seats to get into some of the ones i really want. i'm so pumped but i'm so nervous about not getting into many shows! should i be? do most tickets really come in the week of?

The problem with the Spring/Summer shows is Labor Day...People leave work early, the post office is closed...It becomes a big mess...I myself am waiting on some invites for some major shows.
