i remember the first time i saw her in that editorial for i-D, i thought she was beautiful, she reminded me alot of devon aoki.
but i never found out her name until she passed.
and her blog was so eerily foretelling of her death.
its hard to believe that not one person in her life reached out to her. or maybe they did but it just wasnt enough. i've been through depression and i know the feeling of no one's words being enough, no matter how kind they are.
let this be a lesson to us all to make an effort to reach out to those we know when they are going through difficult times.

also the harshness of the culture she came from is really sad. i mean in terms of the treatment of public figures, women in particular. it's clear that her pain ran very deep.

other sources say 1989, but it might be an assumption they based on her given age.

R.I.P Daul Kim and I hope your death increases even more awareness that the pressures of the modeling industry, the fashion industry, Korean media and traditions, and of being a celebrity can have negative effects mentality that may cause those involved to be severely depressed and lose hope in life. I hope that you are in a more peaceful and I hope such tragedies will never happen again.
