Robert Pattinson: Craving For Conversation
robert-pattinson-la-conversation.jpg

Twilight hottie Robert Pattinson grabs a late night snack with a mystery male at West Hollywood eatery La Conversation on Thursday.
Earlier this week, the 22-year-old British actor was seen partying with “I Kissed A Girl” singer Katy Perry. The pair helped a friend celebrate her birthday at Il Sole in West Hollywood.
Robert is signed up to do New Moon, the sequel to the highly successful Twilight. The Chris Weitz-directed film is set for a November, 20, 2009 release.

Hurrah! Tomorrow vampire-flick-of-joy Twilight finally hits our cinemas - fangs god for that (sorry. It's Thursday. We're tired. And possibly a bit partied out). Anyway, Grazia's been lucky enough to see it already (nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh) and we can tell you it is FAB. Well, other than the few moments where they're trying to explain the ‘Ohh you're a vampire' plot line in a way that's a little reminiscent of The OC, post-Marissa years.
So to celebrate the fact Twilight's arrived for all, here are our favourite facts about the delicious Robert Pattinson, our new boy crush, who plays vamp Edward Cullen in the film. Memorise these and they'll help you wow any under-15s in your family this Christmas (always a tricky crowd to please).
1. Apparently the fashion trend that confuses Robert most is Ugg boots. However, Cinnamon Toast Crunch is his breakfast cereal of choice. This is totally unrelated, but just in case you're interested, he hails from Barnes.
2. Rob's a true renaissance man: he can snowboard, ski, scuba dive (he had to learn for his role as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), plus he plays guitar, piano and is on the Twilight soundtrack (check him out on Never Think and Let Me Sign).
3. He's scared of HP co-star Emma Watson. Robert says: ‘She's really, really cool. She seems so much older than she really is. I find her quite intimidating. I always find myself trying to impress her.' Bless.
4. He says cute things like: ‘Up until I was 12, my sisters used to dress me up as a girl and introduce me as "Claudia". Twelve was a turning point as I moved to a mixed school and then I became cool and discovered hair gel.'
5. Next up, he's playing surrealist artist Salvador Dali in Little Ashes. See, the man has RANGE to go with his unruly Robert Smith hair.
6. He thinks Twilight is a metaphor for the virtues of chastity, but it's had the opposite effect. I get letters that say, ‘I'm going to *********** if you don't watch "High School Musical 2" with me. It's a little nuts.'
7. He's 22 and has two older sisters named Lizzy and Victoria, who are in their late 20s/early 30s. Like, our age. Lizzy and Victoria, if you are reading this, we are very, very, very sorry for perving on your brother.

"my sisters used to dress me up as a girl and introduce me as "Claudia". Twelve was a turning point as I moved to a mixed school and then I became cool and discovered hair gel"> aahahha i can so see this happening!! :)

"charles is a man who has been hit in the face by a frying pan".. ahah. so modest about his hottness

I'm really looking forward to Little Ashes I think it has the potential to be a great film, Dali's such an interesting personality. And I may or may not be considering a third viewing of Twilight... yet I have to agree with the comment about the Twilight cards, overload.

“Q HOW did you feel about the fans’ reaction in the first few weeks you were cast? They weren’t very happy about you being Edward.
A I WASN’T really surprised to be honest. But I wanted to play the part. I didn’t really care what anyone else thought about it. I just decided, I had an idea how to do it, and people will like it or won’t like it. It’s the same as anything, right? You can’t convince anybody. You just have to do what you think is right and accept the consequences.

Q SO how did you prepare for this role?
A I WAS really unfit last year, so I worked out for a long time, then spent time by myself in Oregon. For about two months the only person I saw was my trainer. Every day I did a lot of running and I just didn’t want to talk to anyone for two months. So when I started talking again, it was like you would communicate wrongly, like you wouldn’t really remember how to speak. That was one of the key things as well as just reading the book, reading the script a million times, just figuring things out.

Q HAVING played a vampire are you more scared about dying?
A MAY BE I’m just paranoid. I get scared in the back of cabs now, I think I’m going to die in a cab, I get scared when I’m driving, I think I’m going to die when I’m driving, and I think I’m in a cab when I’m driving which is very unfortunate, and I’ll say, “Hey can we pull over and get some cash,” and then I realise I’m driving. I did that last night - it’s very worrying.
And it’s not because of a bender.”
