Roberto Cavalli F/W 11.12 Milan

This is exactly like F/W 10...but you know what that collection was amazing so I don't mind a repeat. Everything looks a bit more refined than last winter...the virginal white dresses on Sigrid and Hanne are a surprisingly fitting addition IMO.

LOVE IT!
Cavalli is going sexy and tacky again!
It's like his older seasons, but you have the sexy going on thing, very great, i missed the old Cavalli.

I agree it's something of a departure from the last couple of outings but I rather preferred the newer Cavalli. It was younger. It was more festival boho, rockier.

The trousered looks were still there a little. I thought of, still Cavalli, but a whiff of Balmain SS10 and AW10/11 if that makes sense.

But the long floaty gowns, while still packing some edge, were chintzier, somehow back more toward the lady end of the spectrum, more old school red carpet than festival.

Milan is always sexy but somehow this season quite a lot of it feels quite fussily embellished, quite heavily historical.

I can't be the only one that thinks that Cavalli looks exactly the same every season... am I...? :unsure:

I mean, no one does glam boho better than he does, though, so I guess if it ain't broke.

I changed my mind on a second viewing. It is still quite young. If you look at it from a gothic perspective. I guess I just wasn't expecting Cavalli to be quite this goth. I think I really really like it.

Loved the collection. This makes me like Roberto Cavalli. Very Gothic/Romantic clothing, that seems to work on the models. Glamourous, Italian collection this season!

Superb.

It is quite similar to A/W '10, but richer in colour and detail; so, even better, IMO.

Love the maroon/burgundies and bronzes.

:heart: :heart: these two looks;

Even though I am not crazy about the embellishment on the first jacket, I like the vibe of these two looks;

I like the Transylvanian dandy styling;

Ummmmmmm... that's it, I can't even decipher what's going on with most of the looks.

ETA:
As I've stated previous times, I think that Cavalli's talent is underrated but I've notice that his genius tends to present itself in flashes, e.g., standout pieces in an otherwise merely good, mediocre or bad collection.

Nowadays I struggle to differentiate one Cavalli collection from another, isn't this the same as last F/W? I think I've had enough of the bohemian goth look for the brand, even though it's done well on some looks, but most of it is too fussy, messy and overblown.

this was fantastic i mean a lot like the fall 2010 but really pretty! he does scarves really well :D

I love this collection, my favourite from this season so far. Not only was the clothing great, i loved how they did the make up and hair as well.

Can someone please id the song from the begging of this show? Thanks

roberto cavalli has exerted his strength in the marketplace here. every one of these looks packs that cavalli punch but indulges in that dark, rich color palette that has dominated fashion in every quarter from prada menswear to tommy hilfiger ready-to-wear to recent emilio pucci to this collection. while the fashion world tries to usher its customer from an austere fashion moment into something decidedly more decadent and ostentatious, roberto cavalli provides great pieces that bridge.

yes, the animal prints may scream maximal, but the suiting separates he styled with those prints could fold themselves into the most minimal of wardrobes....
