Roberto Cavalli for H&M

I KNEW it would turn to be pretty tasteful!

Now, please throw in an animal print shirt in vivd colors or 3, and we're set.

I'm intrigued to see this brown/white coat (or dress?) on left here:

from those pics, i like the men's stuff more than the women's.
i especially like that trench on the male model in the last pic

Roberto Cavalli for H&M debuts in November and the line will consist of 20 pieces of menswear and 25 pieces of womenswear, including lingerie and matching accessories. The collection will have a price tag of $49.90-$349.00.

^price range is clearly a bit higher than it was for lagerfeld/stella/viktor&rolf in the past...

That's kind of pricey,it's up to 350$ for a piece! I hope the collection is the money worth.

Well, 350 for an elaborate gown ain't asking for too much, is it? How much did the V&R wedding dress cost?

And, is that one photo a picture of a Cavalli x H&M creation?

the one on the right is a sketch of an H&M dress designed by cavalli. the image on the left is just cavalli i assume.

i seriously cant wait!cavalli doesnt get enough credit, his styling for the shows etc blinds people to the amazing workmanship...

I think this is going to be one of those "love it or hate it" collections. I think Cavalli's for those with a strong sense of their own style and the personality to match, and such people can get away with wearing him because they manage to be as "loud" as the outfit... but then again, would such a person want to wear something that anyone can get their hands on at H&M?

Though I am excited to see what the collection will bring. I don't mind the idea that it might be tacky - it's boredom that people die from, so the saying goes.

I agree.

You have to be brave and free-spirited to be able to 'pull off' RC.

His style may sometimes be flamboyant, but he is a trained artist (one of the few remaining, truly great, artist-designers) and most of the prints from his mainline collection are absolutely stunning, especially when viewed up-close, as he draws them by hand.

I loved a lot of the prints from the A/W '06 - '07 collection.

I'm slightly concerned, though, that the prints will be watered down and the whole point of Cavalli, which is wearable art and luxurious fabrics, will be lost.

I think the best designer/highstreet collaborations tend to be from designers who use very plain fabrics and have a minimal design aesthetic; as the difference in quality of materials and make is less obvious.

Still, you never know, maybe he'll pull-off the unpull-offable?! :D

can't wait to see more images- and i hope they will do jewellery as that is what I usually loe about his collections

info from catwalkqueen.tv....

In this month's UK Elle there is a brief preview of the range which includes his trademark animal prints. There are a lot of glamorous dresses as to be expected from Cavalli who often dresses the likes of Victoria Beckham, JLo and Lindsay Lohan to name a few.

There is a long leopard print dress priced at £99.99 or a shorter version for £39.99. Cavalli admits that his favourite piece from the range is the long leopard print dress, "Any woman who wears this will feel like she's on the red carpet."
There are also skinny jeans in the collection which Cavalli is still a fan of. "I still like the very low waist - this makes jeans sexy. I also work with a special fabric that makes my jeans stretchy and fitted."

egh.... womens wear. ts.

but I'm happy that Roberto still clings to the low waist. it's true! low waist is sexier!
