lovely lovely!!!

I really enjoy seeing runway stuff off the runway- it's wonderful to see from a different perspective

yeah, that's indeed the felted wool knit coat with chantilly overlay! i really like how they always come up with such great ideas at rochas, questioning fabric and technique and coming up with fabulous ideas every season! I remember that they already worked the lace as a frame to felt wool on top for a duffle coat in the F/W 2004 runway collection, that one was so exquisite because the delicate lace would be slightly visible from underneath... very subtly so but that was the intention anyway, to almost hide something beautiful for the second - not the first - sight.

As for the actual coat, have a look on how the chantilly overlay totally changes the drape of the felt, because in one of runner's first pictures, you can as well see it without the lace in plain black felted knitting... I personally prefer it in there, because it tends to look less "stiff" on the body.

^ i also adore how they insert a panel of lace inside the jacket, just under the collar.

i think that's typically olivier - i read an interview once several seasons ago that his grandmother used to collect old swatches of lace for him since he was so in love with the fabric from an early time... so i guess that's why you'll find a bit of the original rochas lace in almost every garment - sewn in the back of everything, be it a t-shirt or a jacket... i kind of like how some of the detailing is so subtle yet also very naively-charged.

well, exactly..that's the power of these clothes, right? it's not about showing off, it's very personal. it's the best feeling..when you know why you're wearing the clothes...
it's the best anti-logo statement..really. ;)

yeah for sure... i think it's evident though that a rochas garment is always somewhat 'special' looking, too... there's always a little bit of this otherwordly charm in it, and it's a mixture between the innocence and the austere, strict and relief... which i happen to think is why most of his collections, even if they appear to be soft and romantic, also have something powerful to them, no?

...but i agree with you entirely, there are some touches in the garments which make a hint that the luxe is very private and warm... oh well, i am a big fan of olivier's anyway... i am biased

OMG I love almost everything runner posted. They are amazing pieces! I like them much better off the runway

i love everything rochas. olivier's works always seem to have a careful thought behind them, quite a departure from the vulgarity running rampant nowadays. i love that he uses a darkly romantic theme so lightly, stripping it from convention and making it more interesting and different.

thank you for all the photos runner. brilliant job.

this collection is even more special after the recent 'news'.
hmm...

i LOVE the collection runner posted, its just adorable and extremely wearable. that black coat on the previous page is simply perfect, i would love to own it!

note: i think this would generate more attention if the collection was posted in a seperate thread, no? thanks for considering.
