PARIS – Vanessa Paradis, currently appearing in advertising for Chanel’s Rouge Coco lipstick, is extending her ties to the French fashion and beauty firm.
WWD has learned that Karl Lagerfeld has tapped the actress and singer for a spring campaign for Chanel’s Coco Cocoon range of handbags. The images, to be shot by the designer, are slated to break in June magazines.
Paradis has a long history with Chanel, and she has been loyal to the brand on the red carpet. She first appeared in a 1994 television spot for the brand’s Coco fragrance, depicting her in a giant birdcage.
More recently, she has been an ambassador for Chanel’s Ligne Cambon and New Mademoiselle bags.
The Coco Cocoon line, characterized by puffy quilting in a range of materials, was introduced last year.
