Saint Laurent F/W 13.14 Paris

Quite a few celebs got to wear pieces from the previous collection, with rather positive results. I wonder what's gonna happen now..

Lot of the style.com/ vogue are paid press I find, they will praise garbage and find faults with perfectly nice collections.
I agree, their reviews are not even reviews, they are devoid of opinion and just string together vague anecdotes for fear of offending their advertisers.

I can forgive Hedi for mediocrity (ie, the first collection), but this collection is a bitter pill to swallow. The saddest thing is that this isn't just 'any' house, this is Yves Saint Laurent! It's an insult really.

Anna Wintour's face must have looked like this -

Pierre Berg will have to eat his words. Him praising Hedi and that he was the true heir to Yves. This is horrid. It's like Hedi is flipping the bird with both hands to YSL legacy. I can't believe he's ripping off Marc Jacobs and Courtney Love.

"She's LA effortless and belongs at Coachella all year round" UK Vogue (by Jessica Bumpus)

No she does NOT. Create your own label if that's what you want Hedi.

Could you imagine Catherine Deneuve, Yves muse and close friend wearing any of this dresses? she could never!! a Saint Laurent icon and muse and not a single dress she could wear. It soo teenager

the buyers from cities that arent' london or la must be weeping in a corner right now. how do you sell this to your usual YSL clientele? especially in cities like say, mine, where i know that the costumer base is basically rich 45+ women and nothing else. both the multibrands and the flagship stores will find themselves in a weird position.

^^ Oh, I know. She would never be caught dead in anything from this collection.

He should be fired for this, there is NO EXCUSE for this!

who'd want to spend at least, i don't know, 700 euros on boots that you can find at 1/4 price ?

Well, people who buy luxury. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of this collection, but this will sell fairly well. People who can really afford luxury items are not interested if they can get something similar for 1/4 of the price at Zara/Topshop. They want the ones from 700 euros because they can proudly say they have 700 euros SLP boots. It is a concept that has always powered the luxury market and Hedi will probably benefit from it.

Can't wait for reviews..."Amazing collection...his pure spirit" LOL.

yeah i mean, i understand that and i myself have indulged into stuff that i probably would've found at a reasonable price elsewhere, but in this specific case it seems more ridiculous than ever. doc martens are doc martens, i really see no use re-making an established/iconic (for better or worse) shoe. but as you've said, people will still buy it cause it'll have SLP written/sewn on them

Too much of LA, so little of a real couture.

After watching this collection it pops up in my mind the setence:
Cougars and H**kers REJOICE!
