Ironically, some would say that about Scarlett as well (about how they're now overly aware of their looks.)

Funny, now that you say it, I realize you're so right. I think SJ ruled in Lost in Translation...but her ego/confidence has soared since then. It'll be interesing to see if she can keep it in check, and still act, particularly in the Woody Allen film she's in. Judging from her ultra-starlet red carpet look, she's quite aware of her beauty . Whether or not it's going to be a hinderance to her talent is yet to be seen...(although I haven't seen In Good Company - it looked too cheesy in the trailersunsure:

I liked her in lost in translation, until I saw that movie with Topher Grace and Denis Quaid and realized she acted EXACTLY THE SAME, sort of this dull, toneless quality...

So...

As an actress I don't think she's very good. I'll change my mind if I start seeing her act differently. I think when someone has a distinct voice and look they can fall into the trap of never changing that voice, and making each character seem a copy of the other. Along with the voice comes a sort of personality too, and then you end up being type casted. As fas as her fashion, general look; there is something strange about her look. Very self concious maybe. Very nice editorial at the top of this thread though.

In my opinion, Scarlett was "good" in (or should I say 'for') Lost In Translation because of her natural blankness and slight arrogance. That was the character. She can't keep playing aloof and annoyed forever and expect us not to notice.

Also, Belowen, the point of the picture, as I noted, was just as a funny "anecdote" of sorts. No worries...

I hate that 'maybe they would look better on someone taller' Like vogue brainwashed them. Actually cloths look better than when people are skinny. So if you're tall and fat it doesn't make much difference.
