Plans For 'Sex And The City' Movie Back On?

LOS ANGELES (March 7, 2007) -- Good news for "Sex and the City" fans - the gals might be coming to the big screen after all.
During the P.S. Arts Bag Lunch on Tuesday in Los Angeles, "Sex" alum Kristin Davis said that plans for a movie version of the hit series is once again a very real possibility.
In fact, Davis, who was co-hosting the benefit auction, said she's not accepting any other job offers until it takes shape.
"It's the most talked-about, non-greenlit movie ever," Davis told USA Today. "The second we're in preproduction, I'll be sending out invitations to the first day of shooting."
Davis also revealed that writer/director Michael Patrick King has crafted the film's updated story lines.
King served as executive producer of the TV series.
Back in July of 2004, Access Hollywood's Billy Bush sat down with Kristin to talk about why plans of bringing Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha to the big screen had stalled.
"Give me the honest answer. Why is this movie not being made? Because Kim [Cattrall] didn't want to make it?" inquired Billy.
"I don't think it's a secret," Kristin replied.
"What's underneath it?" asked Billy.
"Oh, I can't possibly explain that... ask her. I can't talk about her issues," said Kristin. "I want to make the movie at any time that anyone wants to make it."

Yeah it looks like it's finally going...I'm glad they worked it out...people miss the characters...

But I think it may work better if it was split into like 6 episodes on HBO...

They should just start up the series again. ;)

So this IS official? I don't know if I should believe.

^^ Agreed. But they should only do this, if it does SATC justice.

Im watching the final episode now...Always makes me tear up (and I dont have feelings).

I just thought the other day...

Carrie's wedding dress would be the most difficult thing Pat Fields would ever have to do...I know it'll be couture...Hopefully Dior.

Very True.
I've just watched them all..again.

i'm not sure that Carrie wouldn be married in a big poofy dress. i think her dress would be a simple siloutte, with a twist.

I hope the wedding in the storyline!

^SJP said before the movie was back on (assuming it is back on) that the storyline featured 2 weddings, and Charlotte and Miranda going to China to pick up the baby.

I'm guessing Carrie will def. be married in the movie and goodness, her wedding dress will def. be one of the biggest fashion moments EVER.

A movie, keep up the serie, anything! I love the show so much that I had to buy the 6 DVDs boxsets. I am still on withdrawal symptoms since they stopped at season 6. The re-runs on TV are all butchered up; too much is censured (well depends where you live). I miss Carrie and all the main players of the show. A movie would be most welcomed.

I just read this on perezhilton.com

It's happening!

There had been talk recently, but now the ink is dry and the papers are signed!

Sources confirm exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Sarah Jessica Parker and everyone else involved just closed their deals this week to star in a big screen feature adaptation of Sex & The City.

And, yes, Kim Cattrall will be in it!

I'm excited for the movie, but I hope it doesn't tarnish the show.

This is exciting...it's like the only shoe everyone I know still misses...the characters were amazing.
