In the past couple of days I've just watched sex and the city for the first time. only seasons 1,2 and 6. I love Samantha! Yey, it means Jason Lewis will be in the movie too... i hope!

Yesterday, I have seen on E.T. a news flash about Sarah Jessica Parker and the cast of SATC. The movie is definitly going to happen as reported...Yay!

I'm really excited about this now. The look of fashion has changed and it will be interesting to see how the characters', mainly Carrie's, style has adapted.

ooooooooh. this is just TOO exciting! i don't want to get my hopes up too much, but i really REALLY can't wait to see this flick.
i really hope that Samantha and Smith are together still, too. and maybe part of the movie will involve going to China to get Charlotte's baby. oh, it's just so exciting!!!!!

^ My guess is that it'll be released by late 2008 or possibly early 2009.
I just checked IMDB. The SATC movie isn't on anyone's profile yet (I checked SJP, Kim, Cynthia & Kristin's profiles) and they usually put their film project(s) in their filmography even if it was just announced.

TV Guide's Michael Ausiello is reporting that the long-awaited "Sex and the City" movie is finally a go!
Speculation has been swirling for a while that the movie was hung up due to its dueling stars, but Ausiello reports that SJP, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis AND Kim Cattrall have all signed on the dotted line to do the film.
Shooting reportedly will start in September.
Thank God- no more lonely Friday nights watching season six on DVD while drinking a bottle of wine by yourself.

Raise your cosmopolitans in a toast: According to a new report, the women of Sex and the City will be reuniting for a film version of the hit TV show.
Filming on the movie is scheduled to begin in mid-September, TVGuide.com reports, with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon all reprising their signature roles.
According to TVGuide.com, New Line Cinema is close to closing a deal to distribute the film in association with HBO, and an official announcement could be made as early as next week.
Rumors of a Sex movie have swirled since the series ended its run on HBO in 2004. In May, Parker, 42, told PEOPLE: "A lot has happened in the past week or so. I'm very hopeful, but there are a lot of people who have to come together."
In June, Parker told PEOPLE she still hadn't read a script, but remained optimistic. "I think it's a great idea and great excuse for us all to be together again," she said. "I really miss the cast, and the people, and the thrill! And I would love an excuse to be shooting on the streets of New York again, just like the old days."
After the show's finale, Cattrall, 50, was reportedly the one cast member not on board for a movie version. But she explained to the UK's Sunday Mail in June: "I thought they would go ahead and do the film without me. But then for it to be said that I was the cause that it wasn't being made was truly horrific. That was not my intention. My intention was to get more money for all of us."
She added: "I felt the only reason to revisit it after finishing it so beautifully would be a fabulous script and a big lump of cash for the actors. Working seven years for a cable TV series is not like doing Friends for NBC. We had all worked our [butts] off. If I was going to do this movie it had to be a retirement situation."
