Shopping for Family of Brands-Carpe Diem, Linea, etc...

^^ I should add that for my expensive boots I always have a cobbler put on a thin rubber sole and heel, and I leave them on until they need to be replaced. You can walk right through the leather sole, even if it is really hard leather, and that is expensive to fix (and sometimes not truly possible). Thanks for pointing that out.

If you've got expensive boots but can't wear them in all weather, what's the point? I mean, they're leather, there isn't much that can happen walking around that can damage them.

If you like the look of your boots beaten up and vintage, they aren't going to get that way if you baby them.

Thanks for the tip, but I think u misunderstood me. It is not that I am afraid of getting them beaten up out per se- in fact, that's precisely my intent. I am simply concerned about getting them wet, as in, wearing them in the rain for fear of ruining the leather. But since the maintenance instruction tells me that I can machine wash them, then I presume that wearing them in rainy weather wouldnt really ruin the leather, would it?

As for the rubber soles, you betcha that I have them on!

there was also a crazy linea white shirt- i couldn't exactly figure out how to wear it- since the buttons were in an arc and there was a lot of extra fabric. have never seen a picture of it before.

does anyone know what they have over at maxfield:s now? is stuff on sale there?

Just about all of the Carpe/LMaltieri stuff at Alan Bilzerian's in Boston is on sale right now (~30% off).

I wanted to inform all of you about a Dutch brand called Mansharey which have been making wrinkled and washable leathers (shirts, jackets, trousers) already for over more than 6 years. The quality of the garments is very good and I was actually surprised that the fashion world thougt Carpe Diem was so revolutionary: don not get me wrong please, it is a great anti-brand, but in my opinion not very unique in what its doing.

I do not know if Mansharey is available in countries outside the Netherlands and Belgium, but I do know that the retail prices are very good (jacket € 600) and the garments are having the same style as Carpe Diem. So if you like Arte Povera, but think Carpe Diem and its brand extensions is too expensive, try to purchase something from this brand;you will not be disappointed.

Do you have a link or pictures?

For those who live in new york, i saw some carpe diem pieces at century 21.

Sorry, but can not provide you with a website, due to the fact that the brand does not have any. I just found similarities between the washable leathers and the wrinkled effect that (especially the jackets) both brands have. Just wanted to attend on a possible alternative thats all.

Hello. My first post.)
Does anyone know shops in Italy where Carpe Diem shoes or boots are available?

As for Moscow, Leform won't carry cd in the nearest future.. there's only some LMaltieri stuff at James.
