A quick question for NYers...aside from Atelier and Barneys, what other locations in NYC carry C Diem boots? I had heard that the Earnest Sewn store might stock them, but haven't had the opportunity to check and see yet...is there anywhere else?

IF boutique has an excellent selection. 94 Grand street.

So, I finally broke down and bought the asymetrical shirt from yoox. Too good to be true, of course--it is most likely a size 3, not a size 5. I'm *pissed*. And frustrated--this is the first purchase I've made in aeons.
Oh, no!!! I wish you asked here before you bought it. Johnny bought it and had to return it, and you are definitely bigger than him. Sorry to hear it :flower:

Well, at least my wife got a good laugh out of seeing me with it "on." Maybe that slouchy Demeulemeester shirt-jacket would be better... ;P

I've heard of IF, but don't actually know the location (plus, it's difficult to Google for)...anyone happen to know the address?

Oops. Nevermind. Just got a reply with the address in the main C Diem / Linea thread. 94 Grand St. seems to be the spot.

hello everyone...
we have decided to move this thread to the shop til you drop forum since it has become about that more than anything else...

*at some point the posts regarding the collection, brand and design philosphy will be pulled out and moved back to d&c where they belong...

thanks very much..

are carpe diem coats worth the money?- i'm considering a long leather jacket for the spring- but its £2400 and its a little different from the leather i usually buy

Well, it is kind of relative, isn't it? They make amazing leatherwear, but that's a lot of money to spend on a jacket. If I had the money to spend on a leather jacket and was in the market for one, that's probably where I'd look first... but "worth" it? Strictly speaking, most of the things we talk about buying on here aren't "worth" it. :P

thnx guys,
definitely have a look. I think the boots are worth it, to start the addiction, then when it's on everything becomes worth it...

2nd - if I had the dough, I wouldn't think twice.

Talking about "worth": the boots are really hard and uncomfortable for my taste. But I just love them!

I may come across at sounding a bit daft, but I've had my CCP horsehid leather boots for a while now, and I don't dare wear them in the rain.

However, the maintenance guide states that you can hand or machine wash them in cold water. So is it possible to wear them in the rain or even in the snow? I've the same concern for my Carpe Diem boots, pictured below.

The strange thing is, I also have a pair of Dolce&Gabbana boots that I wear the hell out of in the snow, rain, etc, even though you weren't "supposed" to- but they turned out great, they have this great beat up, vintage look now.
Of course I dare not take the risk for the CCP and CP boots bc they're so much more pricey. What do you guys think?

If you've got expensive boots but can't wear them in all weather, what's the point? I mean, they're leather, there isn't much that can happen walking around that can damage them.

If you like the look of your boots beaten up and vintage, they aren't going to get that way if you baby them.

I do have the same CD boots and a very good shoemaker in Milan told me that I should have a rubber sole put under in the winter and take it off in the summer, which I did. It worked perfect - I did not have any cold or wet feet and the leather sole with the stitching would have been ruined as soon as in contact with water. I know the 'hardcore' fans believe the shoes to wear them as they are, but I did not want to throw boots for over 1000 Euro in the bin.
