re: IF

Hah, I actually know the guy who left one of the bad reviews! He uses the same screen name everywhere!

runner - what store is that? I absolutely LOVE those brown bashed up shoes third from the right. THanks for the pics by the way

you're welcome Johnny
although those images are from website of the store "minorityrev", I don't know whether they have those shoes. it's located in Fukuoka which is a long way from here. sorry. and the images were taken in Perugia.

Ok thanks runner, no problem. I've got an inkling again to get one of those Maltieri sweatshirts (like the one you posted the other day but without the prin underarm). IF I am a 38 chest would you suggest that a size 4 would be correct? Also, do you know what colours those come in now?I've seen black and pale pale grey. Any others? Thanks.

you mean "sweatshirts" as shirts with raglan sleeves?
they didn't make those shirts this spring (you'll see some raglan pieces from the previous collections at the stores though. maybe that "pale pale grey" is the color called "mud" from 04). so the new shirts come in black, white, grey, beige, earth, etc. also come all in light jersey and in poplin with light jersey sleeves.
38? could you put it in centimeters?

I would think of a shirt as something with a collar, but I think we're talking about the same item here - cotton top with raglan sleeves and side panels with unfinished round neckline.

In centimetres - 96.5

so a size 3 would be right. but this is just my liking. I think the shirt would look better, fitting snugly.

also size 4 would work well, especially when you like it a bit slouchy.

then, they have mens, womens and unisex.
there are those raglan shirts for both mens & unisex.
basically mens stuff comes in 6 sizes, 2-7.
if it has size 1, it's for unisex. its sizing would be different from mens in a subtle way.
also cotton jersey piece would run a bit smaller than poplin etc.
it might be dangerous not to try it on.

Yes, thanks runner. I've tried on a three in the cotton jersey - was too small. Very very fitted. I think a 4 would be OK. Anyway, will see if they have any left in Harvey Niks (if Jude Law hasn't bought it all up - saw another picture of him with black leather shirt)

good to know. thanks johnny and runner. i'm the same size. i don't see why cdiem linea and lmaltieri don't have all the same sizing. i just know my sizes in the cdiem and linea just because i was able to try them on.

My favorite of this kind was the grey ("earth"?) top, with the knit front. There is still one in A.

you are welcome Johnny, xcoldricex
and it seems that you might see the raglans for S/S 05 at the store in case the retailer bought them specially.

for Johnny (btw, I saw a little bit similar shoes to those you mentioned at Yohji, but in goat/black & suede/camel beige)

I have to say, for the price, it's not my cup of tea...(ooo, that was so british)

I do like the way they are displayed, loving the meathooks, great for displaying jeanswear, and spring loaded hangers...great stuff.

My CDiem investigations (cause I fell in love with superb looking CDiem half boots, but not yet with the price of 1k euro) has led me to this pic of Maurizio Altieri. Although you might know Mr. Altieri already cause Runner posted a picture of him in this thread.

Great thread, guys. Raijin - I loved the second pair of black shoes that you posted. They were perfect. The ones with the horseshoe on the bottom.
I love the way that clothes are displayed, too--the way that they hang. Everything looks as if it has been soaked in water and then air-dried.

Just wondering, I read the intial article. It says they don't do editorials or advertise. Do they get a lot of press because of this or in general? I'm assuming they've been mentioned in wwd before, but has there ever been any press articles/articles about them?

Also, I take it they don't have a website either?

No website. The articles pop up here and there, but it's not something you'll see in a mainstream publication. The info on these guys is really limited, which is a shame, because a lot of their magic unravels once you realize the amount of intricate, skilled and high level work that goes into creating the garments.
