Pants in older petite lines are too short for me, but pants at 29 1/2" for Banana Republic and 30" for J. Crew fit me fine. If I could do something about my height, I'd like to add another five inches. Two on my torso and three for my legs. I want to be considered "elegant" rather than "cute"! Short girls are always "cute" and it isn't funny when you're about to turn 27. It's also harder for "cute" women to get ahead in business.
I agree, and I hate it so much! Tall girls always win! Unfortuently, not everyone can end up at a beautiful 5'10"....galviggo said:There's no friggin' contest! All else being equal (proportions, the single most important factor) tall girls always win. Tall girls get to wear flats (and look great in them!), don't have to stand on tiptoe to kiss their bfs, garner way more attention walking into a room. Tall girls look more statuesque and commanding. Tall girls can afford to pack on 10 pounds and still look roughly the same, whereas with short girls you can spot every extra ounce she carries.
Ah, the list goes on and on...
I'm only 5'3" and even a mere 2 more inches would make a huge difference...esp. since I'm dating a tall man again (6'2") and the height (and size) differential is just TOO VAST.
That said, I don't want to be TOO tall. I think the tallest I'd want to be is 5'8". But since that will never happen...![]()

Pros
long legs
clothes look on me
can wear flats and my legs still look good
even if I gain weight I still look thin
Cons
3" heals look ridiculous on me
finding jeans long enough for my legs

I rarely stand straight
my back often hurts
Totally agree! Some looks definitaly fits small girls more. Sometimes I wish I was small and petite so I could pull off wearing tees as dresses all the time, which is a bit hard for me to do, because I'm so high and all the tees, even mens XL tees, isn't long enough to even cover my butt. I also have trouble to find pants which fits me. If they fit my hips and butt, they are way to short and so on.susie_bubble said:But over here, it's all good....not too tall, not short..... I do agree that clothes tend to look better if you're taller. But I think there are somethings that petite people pull off a whole lot better as well.

should i accept sticking out like a sore thumb in the crowd, or maybe get used to wearing cute flats??![]()
5'7" is definitely not average, hehe! The American average womens height is 5'4"maey825 said:::5'7"::
My height is "average" but i feel really tall, considering most of my friends, family and acquantences i surround myself are asian (they are typically short). i love wearing heels, but sometimes i feel kind of awkward towering over them.
