Technology- brings us closer to our friends or family- or does it?

I haave to write as many bullet points, as I have to write an essay tomorrow with a time limit of 40 mins.

So what are your views?

Im not looking for answers, i want opinions!

Well, I have noticed many do make friends through internet and things like MSN Messenger help to socialize. I don't myself have anything else in the net than my e-mail address, and I don't like the way people seemto be socializing in the internet ... I think there are more pleasant ways to get new acquitances. However, many people do not seem to think the same.

Technology helps in keeping touch with people, but I am not sure whether it has a huge helping effect. I think it might even make us more distant.

i think it makes it easier to keep in contact with people, and to meet new people. i have friends studying abroad, and they constantly tell me they wouldn't be able to do without skype or MSN.

the funny thing is, at times, the more advanced technology gets, the more isolated we feel. because we're so caught up in our own world, hooked up to our blackberries and ipods we don't really notice the people next to us anymore. so in the past while we might have struck up a conversation with someone on the street, now we're cocooned in a solitary world of our own.

I hate it that everyone has these newest technology, and because I do not want to buy into it as I think it is pretty much all hype, I feel a little bit isolated sometimes.

It makes it easiser but i doubt the quality is as good.. i mean my mum texts me from the next room or will im me rather the talking to me. Also i know a few techno buff guys who reject mates who dont have the latest phone etc. sad i know lol.

I wouldnt say it brings us closer to our friends of family,

BUT technology has brought me closer to loads of people,
& I'd never have known them if it wasnt for technology,
[even if it is just people here!]
