*Watched in my film class

Chalet Girl was really fluffy but perfect for the lazy mood I was in. I didn't really want to think while watching a movie at that moment so it suited my purposes. But I really liked My Week With Marilyn, Michelle Williams was able to embody Marilyn perfectly. This was one film that definitely made me think... I mean she was used by everyone for their own desires. It's quite sad really. I love that moment at Eton college where she say's something like, "shall I play her?" So it's not like she was totally clueless, definitely one complex individual.

12. Heist (2001). I absolutely loved Ricky Jay, he was the best thing about this film. Though I pretty much love him in everything.
13. Les vacances de M. Hulot (France, 1953).
14. Date Night (2010). Normally I don't really care for this kind of films but I actually enjoyed this one.
15. The Grey (2011). I'm glad I didn't pay anything to see this one. The film didn't even meet the low expectations that I had.

I tend to go through phases where I watch a bunch of films that are within a specific genre, made by the same director, starring a specific actor or something else entirely. I just went through a Jacques Tati phase. And now I seem to gravitate toward early Emma Thompson films.

16. Playtime (France, 1967).
17. J. Edgar (2011)
18. Much Ado About Nothing (1993). I've never been a big fan of Shakespeare, but this one I really liked.
19. Sense and Sensibility (1995).
20. The Iron Lady (2011). Disappointed in this one, both in the movie itself as well as in Meryl Streep's performance
19. Howards End (1992). I thought the acting was splendid!
20. The Remains of the Day (1993).

Tinetush, I notice you have a Jacques Tati film on your list (Les vacances de M. Hulot (France, 1953)); have you seen his later film Trafic? It's so funny, and the fashion is even worth a look!

35. Manhattan Murder Mystery - I love this Woody film; it's just good, fun entertainment; this was a re-watch. It teams Diane Keaton and Woody Allen together again (after Annie Hall of course), and they have such chemistry; then there are Alan Alda and Angelica Huston, who is fabulously gorgeous in this film.

*Watched in my film class

I just wanted to mention that I really liked The Hammer and I'd strongly suggest that everyone watch it. It's based on the true story of Matt Hamill, a deaf wrestler, and it's really inspiring to watch. As someone who's hard of hearing, I think this film did a great job at showing aspects of deaf culture. Also, the way it's filmed is interesting because it uses a mixture of ASL (American Sign Language), vocal language, and silence (to understand what it feels like to be Hamill). And to be honest I haven't seen any other film besides The Hammer (or tv show... I'm looking at you, Switched at Birth) employ all three very well. And don't worry there is captions for those who don't understand ASL!

36.- Puss (Sweden 2010) It was ok, Gustaf:lol:
37.- Apt Pupil (US 1997) I don't think I've ever watched a movie with Ian McKellen that I didn't like, plus Brad Renfro nails it.
38.- Julie & Julia (US 2009) Loved it so much...I guess it's 'cause I'm such a foodie.
39.- The Ramen Girl (US, Japan 2008) Two hours of my life I've wasted and never getting back:sick:
40.- Victor/Victoria (UK, US 1982) Julie Andrews:heart: 'nough said.

42.- The Last Seven (UK 2010) Best movie I've seen all year.Really unexpected.
43.- Big Night (US 1996) Just worth it to watch Marc Anthony  and Tony Shalhoub's great.

45.- Coraline (US 2009) I'm sure Coraline and I would be friends irl. Loved the script.

I thought I was the only one like this. I can remember films I've watched based on who's in them cuz when I get obsessed with somebody, I try to watch everything they ever starred in. (It was easier in my teens, when I was obsessed with fewer stars. The older I've gotten, the more people I fangirl over, and so it's harder to watch everything, but I'm determined.)

I love Jacques Tati!
