You watched this awhile ago, but what did you think of it?
I need to get into more silent films, but I just can never bring myself to for some reason. I've pretty much seen all the "important" silent comedies, but the dramas are another story for me.
I liked it! It's slightly longish, but my 11 year old son watched it with me, and it held his attention (he loves Chaplin though). The film techniques are pretty cool and the story is engaging, while very sad, but the "fantasy" ending lightens things up to a degree, if you don't take it for harsh sarcasm. Anyhow, definitely worth watching. If you're looking for silent dramas, "Man with a Movie Camera", "Metropolis", "The Passion of Joan of Arc", "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" and "Nosferatu" are all good as well.
