^documentaries aren't allowed? I thought they are. I've seen someone here who had few documentaries in the list. And I have some in my to watch list.
I think these are just rules modelista set up for herself.
I for one am counting all documentaries that get on my way, I probably have more documentaries than movies on my list, and I don't care if they get distributed or not.
We all have our rules I guess, I'm not counting most of the TV movies I encounter and that I've already seen.

Men Who Stare at Goats
isn't really something I would recommend, but I was entertained... it was interesting enough, but definitely a film that was carried by its cast.

Precious... yikes. I've been meaning to watch it since it came out, and even having heard some of the plot details beforehand it's uncomfortable to watch. Well made though... some really great performances.

would you recommend Hideous Kinky? I've had it on my "to watch" list for a while and just haven't gotten around to it... but I'll make it more of a priority if you think it's worthwhile :p

Not the most prolific week of movie-watching for me, but still managed to catch a few. I'll actually try going to the cinema this week for once :D

Pssst, MulletProof, I think you'd really like 3 Women. Dreamlike in the non-whimsical kind of way; I can't decide who I love more after watching it, Shelley Duvall or Sissy Spacek. Both are craaaaazy in it ;)

^ how was Rugrats in Paris? Rugrats has been my favo cartoon when i was little.

^it was one of my favorites too, i had received it for Christmas .

It's as good as it used to be when i was a child, but i totally got the secretly hidden adult humor and references in it now, than i used to.

Angelica was always my favorite (and i was always referred to as Angelica as a child ) and she is at her best in this.

I intend on watching Rugrats Go Wild tonight...

and here is the trailer for Go Wild...

^hahahaha, those trailers are amazing!! Gonna download these right now!

07. A Few Good Men
08. Meet the Parents
09. Mr. and Mrs. Smith
10. My Cousin Vinny

I was reading through the thread and I've seen a lot of suggestions for rules.
So, has it been established whether or not we're following any specific rules?

^here are some obvious rules :
  • TV Shows obviously don't count.
  • Documentaries and Series' (i.e. Saw, Star Wars, Lord of the rings, Harry Potter ect.) do count.
  • You cannot list a film you have already enclosed within your list. (i.e. you cannot re-watch it)
Any other contributions to the rules would be appreciated.

^i also think that we should make only list movies seen from January 1, 2012 onwards a obvious rule since it IS the "100 movie challenge in 2012"

^^yeah, i agree with pretty much everything. These are basic rules.

1. No Strings Attached
2. Rise of The Planet of The Apes
3. Tangled
4. The Artist
5. Eat, Pray, Love*
6. Mulan
7. Half Nelson

Watched This Week...

8. He's Just Not That Into You*
9. Albert Nobbs
10. Big Miracle

* Watched in film class

I really loved Albert Nobbs, such a sweet and sad story. The cinematography for this film was fantastic and so was the song Lay Your Head Down. I can't believe it didn't get an Oscar nom for best song! It's really beautiful and had me in tears.

Definitely. I don't think all the potential of the location and entire theme was as explored as it could've been, but the topic is quite interesting because it's almost centered on the perspective of two English girls that end up living an expat life in Morocco. I always thought that if I ever had kids I would want them to spend their childhood abroad, like in Namibia perhaps, just so they're surrounded by nature and reality in all its forms (negative and positive).. and never feel the pressure to take part in the daily dynamics I grew up with.. like materialism or classicism, sounds stupid probably because that happens anywhere, but anyway, the movie definitely touches on that territory of the emotional, cultural and financial rollercoaster one gets to experience as an adult when choosing to live as an expat and the life a child has to confront as a result of that decision: the positive experiences, the risks due to their surroundings but also due to the lack of sense in belonging, which is important for children (but pays off eventually I insist ).

Kate Winslet does a good job as a 25 year-old idealist but very clueless (or just naive) mother. Some scenes made me :innocent:....

1. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (4) Josh Holloway; sigh, hottest thing alive!
2. Knocked Up (4)
3. Moneyball (4.5)
4. The Help (3) Loved Jessica Chastain
5. Margin Call (3.5) Simon Baker and Paul Bettany, too sexy.

6. Failure to Launch (4.5) Zooey Deschanel has one of my favourite movie performances ever in this film.
7. The Big Lebowski (5) on the big screen! (an all-time favourite)
8. Jurassic Park (5) on the big screen!
9. Back to the Future 2 (5) on the big screen! (an all-time favourite)

Should there be some sort of rule about how often we can post our lists? Making one post every time you watch a movie seems a bit much to me. Maybe posting in groups of five or something?

^ People already seem to be following that rule very well. It's also never really been a big problem in the book challenge threads in my opinion. I personally think that too many rules is a turn off; the challenge is fun and caters well to the individual before all these rules come in.
