The 4-5 piece French wardrobe #5

Great trench coat Jinadaze! Looks chic. I'm also on the look out for a trench. I would like one with a bit of a sheen on it. I'm debating the color: black or kind of champagne/beige, but my hair color is blonde, so maybe beige is gonna wash me out, but the color is very chic.
I also want to see that swimsuit!

I've orderd red pointed patent pumps, but they were sold out unfortunately, there was some technical problem when I purchased them, so they really weren't available anymore. :( But I'm gonna keep my eyes open at other brands. The Miu Miu sweater was too short unfortunately, so I sent it back. With rather low waisted trousers my belly button was showing partially and I don't like that at all, only for teenagers.

Luckily I've never had any problems with moths, keep my fingers crossed this will stay this way.

I would purchase that cardigan Betinapple, because it's almost september 1st!

Congrats for deciding on the green one eizhowa! I'm very curious how it looks on you, hopefully even better in real life.

I agree Betina, go for it - we're only a couple days away from September... and while you wait for it to arrive it might be September ;)

I want you guys' opinion on something... I could use some booties and I'm infatuated with these. Basically, do you think they would work with my colours?

They're burgundy and black; most of my autumn and winter attire (I wouldn't wear them in other seasons) is gray, black, red, burgundy, several shades of pink, which I'm not worried about. However, I do have a beige jumper that is a major staple and some greens that I'm more worried about... Maybe I should find some all-black boots? ;)

So I ordered the cardigan - but it was sold out. Sigh.

Not sure what to do now, since the only webshop that has it is the UK one where it is a lot mere expensive.

^^ I think these would work well with beige and most if not all greens. Cordovan is a neutral in men's shoes ... I once had some cordovan loafers that I wore with everything. I think everything we said about the green bag pretty much applies here ;)

Well. Actually I am really not that bummed about the cardigan-thing. Not buying anything and thinking about what to buy next feels good, and I might just continue doing just that and add my September shopping funds to my bag-savings. I have other things on my wishlist, things that I could get, but somehow I do not really feel like it.

Btw, thank you for your help ladies!

@Barbaraa: I think those would go perfectly with your colour scheme. They look really nice!

@barbaraaa: lovely booties, very versatile imo, I love the 2 colors combination, you can wear them with almost everything.

Eizohwa: I would go for the green bag as well ^_^

Barbara, I think those booties are lovely and I definitely see them working with your wardrobe :) I hope you hear some news on the job front ! (Or did you already? This thread moves so quickly )

Betina, I am sure there will be another perfect cardigan and when the time is right, you will get it :) :flower:

I know what you mean, I didn't want a cotton one for that exact reason, looks kind of too casual for my liking and wrinkles in no time. This one's fabric is a little shiny, not too much, just right, and I didn't need to iron it when I took it out from my luggage, where it was folded in a plastic bag, so this is really a huge plus for me. I don't want such an elegant piece to get all crumpled, it looses it's soul.

And the swimsuit is in the appropriate thread, along with the other pieces. ˆ-ˆ
I am planning to order chelsea boots in Sept., because I already found the perfect ones and don't want to waste my time looking further, even though I told myself that I will invest in some of a higher price point than Asos are. I changed my mind though, because these are exactly what I was looking for and I am extremely satisfied with their footwear in general.

Actually the season hasn't even started yet and I already found a lot if not all of the pieces I have on my list, so I have to stop for some time. I think my next real shopping will be in the end of October.

Barbaraaa, I would get those ankle boots if I were you, I adore burgundy/black combination (wearing it a lot during colder months), but make sure they are warm enough. I am pointing on the lower cut at the sides.

Betina, maybe they will get the cardi back in stock? Believe me I know how hard it is sometimes to find just right pieces that may be really basic. It's like searching for a diamonds. :D

i added a piece to my fall wardrobe today. went into gravity pope convinced i would buy these as i have been wanting them for over a year now..

...but they weren't comfortable at all and were very difficult to pull on & off. i just knew they wouldn't be practical for me. after trying every pair of pull on flat ankle boots & chelsea boots in the shop these caught my eye, and once i put them on i knew i had to have them. :woot: they are like wearing butter on your feet....amazingly soft....and they sculpt to your feet which gives a very slender, elegant silhouette. i think they look much better in person than they photograph.

Trippen shoes come highly recommended from everyone i know who has a pair, so i know i've invested in good quality shoes that will last for years.

i was a bit sad to have to give up on my idea of black chelsea boots, but i have a brown pair that i love and have worn out, so i'll spend some money hopefully repairing those. and i think when i can budget for another pair of boots with a slight heel, i might go back for the Acne pistols. they looked so gorgeous sitting there.

@Jina: guess what? After reading your comment I just checked the site where I originally was planning on purchasing the cardigan, and it was back in stock in size XS (the one I ordered yesterday was a size S, in the hopes of me being able to fit into it, since I am a size XS. So this is just perfect. Need I say I went ahead and ordered it? Also the site I ordered it from had free postage. So much for being fine with it being gone  but you are perfectly right, finding the item that is just perfect can really be a hassle and since I felt kind of bummed when I woke up today, I guess I made the right decission. It is the kind of item that I am planning on wearing with everything for fall.

I really like the boots. How much are they? I would not spend more time looking if these are excactly wghat you have been looking for.

@Eva:
thank you dear - turned out it just got back in stock ;)

@Adorefaith: very lovely boots! I will definetly recommend the Pistol boot. I loooove mine.

Yay! :woot: This happens to me very often, so when an item I am lusting over is out of stock I keep looking if/when it will come back and often it does. Just great you got it, I am sure you will be satisfied and wear it a lot.

'My' chelsea boots cost 50 £, leather of course. ^_^ I really like the 'heel' height since I am not fond of completely flat shoes in general (hard for walking too), and also the fact they are a bit higher than my previous pair.

Thank you everyone for your feedback on those boots! I'll have to see them IRL and try them on before making an actual decision, however. Funny that quite a few of us are looking into boots at the same time ^_^

I haven't heard the final decision yet, but I'm on the last part of a long process and with quite high hopes!

I also hope you are doing fine :flower:

That is a good point! I wasn't so worried about the cold (never gets too cold here...) as about the stability. As in, the cut out might make them a bit unstable. Still have to try them on. Also those are some great chelsea boots! I've never heard anything but good things about ASOS footwear - if my feet weren't so difficult I would definitely give them a try.

So it all ended well :D Maybe it was a good thing that it wasn't available yesterday ;)

@Jina: looking forward to see if it fits both my body and my high expectations!

Really good price for a pair of leather boots!

@Barbaraa: I think so. I am always a size XS these days. I have heard that this brand is somewhat small in the sizing though.

___________

I still really do not feel like shopping at all and I am really contenmplating seeing how long I can keep this going since it feels good.

^^I have also found a pair of chelsea boots with a heel... I guess it is that time of the year. I'll have to wait until I find the shoes on a site that includes taxes and import duties though. I can't afford it otherwise.

Betina: I haven't bought the bag yet. Figured I might as well wait until September.

T-shirts: I found some great basic tees the other day. I had sort of made peace with the fact that a nice cut tee would cost me at least 400 NOK (60 usd), and I was very pleased to find lots of really nice ones at Monki for 80 NOK (12 usd). The matrial was 100% viscose, which I love:heart: The cut was perfect also. They were not to long in the torso, not too clingy, not cut too low and the sleeves were not too long. The white was almost completely see-through, but I am 21, and I can live with that as long as I wear a pretty bra and I am not visiting my grandmother;) They are so comfy that I wanted to buy a dozen, but I managed to controll myself and only get 4. I am considering to stock up further if they wash well. I am not sure if they will... but I think I love them so much I might hand wash them:innocent:

Wise decission. What is the name of that tee? Sounds interesting.

My cardigan should be arriving today. So excited to see if it is just as great as I think!

My cardigan has arrived and it is perfect! Everything I wanted and made from super soft 100% wool. I will take some pictures of it later today.

^Sounds really great! I still can't believe that Acnes or Filippa Ks version aren't pure wool. Really excited to see which shade of grey (cringe) it is.

The t-shirt is the "Lerima" model. I've attached a picture of the grey one. It is softer than it looks in the picture though:wink: And less purple:huh: I think the monitor on the computer I am on is very off, color-wise.

I was really chocked to see that the Filippa K version is almost only made of man-made fibres. One could just as well buy a similar cardigan from H&M then IMO, and to make the matter even more silly, mine is cheaper than both the Filippa cardigan and the ACNE raya. And, all modesty aside, I consider mine to be a better quality.

That tee looks great and the price is insane! Please let me know how well it will do when being washed.

Yay for the purchase Betina and Eizhowa :D

I have a silly question: I read (I think it was here on the fashion damage thread) that someone bought some white Louboutin shoes (Satin?) but never wore them and kept them in a box. A year later they were stained...
I found the perfect shoes for my bridesmaids and I am scared they might not be available in 2 years (+ my dress maker will need them for the toile and dress fittings) so I wanted to buy them now but I am scared they might turn "sour" in 2 years time.. I am also wondering if you think the style of shoes would be comfortable (pep toe/front) or if I should maybe look for some strappy sandals for them? :/ Thank you!

I haven't purchases anything for the 4-5 pieces yet so I am quite proud of myself, I was supposed to not get anything before Sept/Oct and seeing as things are, I will probably keep my vow :D
