I bought this scarf last week. It's two-sided, incredibly soft, warm and HUGE.

I love to wear big scarves but this one looks more like a blanket  and I have trouble wearing it. Sometimes I get it right but not always and it frustrates me especially when I'm in a hurry. Instead of wearing the scarf underneath my coat (which is impossible in this case anyway), I'd like to wear it above my trench coat without knotting it. I even bought that old school scarf clip. :D My mother makes it work in no time but I guess it's much easier doing it on someone else.

My coat should arrive today. I will let you know if it fits and post a picture then.

The scarf, Miwi, looks like a great piece. Why don't you try with your mum in front of the mirror and learn how to deal with it even when you're in a hurry? I could never wear this kind of scarf since I'm shorty, it would totally swallow me. I have some scarfs at home that are lovely but simply too big for me...

Eizhowa: If the buyer in the family doesn't want to scarf, you might want to check with me ;-) Anyway, if you want to sell it I'm sure you'll find someone who wants it.

Welcome! You've made a very nice selection imo. Don't forget to credit your images.

My coat: I promised to let you know when it arrives... So it did! I must say I was getting nervous that maybe it would be too bulky for me and that I had been to quick in ordering it. The pictures on the website are a bit misleading.

But... the coat is from APC and I've recently had such awesome experiences with APC. Three of my absolute favorite pieces are APC, for me the brand seems good quality, classic and still with a more or less reasonable price. It's called a winter parka on the website and it's available in black or khaki.

Now I ordered the khaki version and I'm very glad with how it fits, it's actually much better than what I had feared. It's not bulky at all, the cut is straight but with a rather slim fit and an adjustable waist. It has a fur trim around the hood which is removable though. I'm very happy with the colour (darker than on the website, rather a dark olive) and the cut. My only worry is that I'm not 100% sure whether it's really warm enough in minus 10 degrees?? But I would have needed a practical fall jacket anyway so it definitely stays here. I guess I'll just go into winter with it and I'll see... I think it will be fine on 80% of the winter days but we'll have to see about the other 20%. Since the cut is slim but not tight I could still wear an extra sweater beneath if necessary.

The pictures show the black version and the khaki version. The khaki Version is darker in real life though and the cut in my opinion looks better than on these pictures.

Oh, and for whatever reason I payed 200 Euro less than on the website?!

^You can't credit your own accounts unfortunately. You need to find the source of every image... A big hassle, I know.

RedandNavy: That parka is BEAUTIFUL!:buzz::buzz: It is the prettiest one I have ever seen:heart: I recommended it to Betina as well a while ago. I love the grey one myself:blush: Hopefully it will be warm enough for you! If you paid 200 euro less than listed, well, thats a really great bonus:cool: Congratulations on the new parka!

Miwi: I love two sided scarves. I've been looking for one with two shades of grey or brown for a while now. And I have difficulty trying to wear my Acne scarf as well. If I wrap it around my head twice, I can't see anymore, because it is too big:D Congrats on your purchase!

^ Hi, Trenchcoat, welcome. What's needed is the website source of each image, like apc.fr for R&N's new coat above ... very pretty! I like the contrast of the black one.

I often note the source (in the filename) when I save images on my machine in case I want to post them here later ...

Great coat RedandNavy! I love it when pieces turn out to be even better in real life. And the price: good job, must feel wonderful. And in the winter you could always wear a fleece jacket or something like that underneath it. I do it all the time with my in between seasons jacket.

@Miwi Your scarf looks amazing and it looks so soft, I want to touch it. :D

@Jinadaze Did you purchase that dress? I like it, it looks elegant and also comfy.

Not yet, it will have to wait, because I don't want to purchase more than one piece this month, and I finaly ordered the wool trousers, pictured in the What did you buy today thread. It's been quite of a hassle though, because the credit card was declined multiple times and their customer service was not busy responding.
I hope I will be satisfied with them (and will fit, of course), since I went for a bit different than a classic black or grey pair. I am sure I won't have any troubles combining them with the other pieces though and having another option along with my black velvet and leather trousers will be a nice change I think.
As you see I also got a gold bracelet, since my old cuff isn't wearable anymore and can't be repaired. I really miss it, wearing it for almost 3 years nonstop makes me feel naked now.
I fell in love with the leather cuff from Miu Miu SS14 collection, can't wait till it will be on sale.

R&N, I love the parka too! And it was a huge bargain, hardly believable.
It is a shame though than the down jacket from the last year had to be replaced, especially as it wasn't cheap.

Trenchcoat, welcome in the thread!

Can you tell me the perfect black jeans for my basic wardrobe? I've tried H&M but the jeans always stretched out. I want to try the River Island Molly skinny. Does anyone have experiences with these jeans?

Jeans tend to stretch out a size or two, depending. I have jeans that retail for 15 to 300 dollars, and they all get stretched out with time. A good trick is to buy one size smaller than what fits perfectly in the store. I've done this in the past. Hope that helps:flower:

Yes but they also the knee part stretches (do you know what I mean) and sometimes the colour fades away. Which cheap jeans do you find good? Monki, zara, mango, river island?

I am satisfied with Zara's jeans. I only have a coated black pair and an off-white ones currently (I don't wear denim) and they don't stretch at all.
I wouldn't be able to buy a smaller size though, because I definitely could not fit in, I prefer ultra skinny ones.

I have black pair from monki that has not stretched out too much. In my experience, jeans that have lower percetages of synthetic fibres retain their shapes better. They will stretch out too, but you can wash them in cold water and they go back to their original state, in my experience.
If you don't wash them much, only every couple of months in cold water, the color should not fade too much. It might fade slightly in the seat area and the knees, but thats part of jeans charm, isn't it?

I have not had the best experiences with mango jeans, but all my pair have gotten "stretch-marks" after being washed. I will however give them anothet go. I haven't owned a pair since I lived at home, so maybe someone else washed them wrong... how knows:rolleyes:

We don't have Zara or River Island, so I can't comment on their quality.

Black jeans are great to get in the sales:wink:

Jinadaze: I couldn't get my jeans on the first couple of days:D

redandnavy i agree with the others - that parka is gorgeous! i'm curious, what is the material? is it lined? i wish it was warm enough to wear here... but sadly it gets colder than -10C. :ninja: i guess maybe if i layered enough....

Today I tried on the same leopard sweater I bought earlier, in the classic leopard colorway. I liked it, but not as much as the snow leopard colorway I already have. I think I am just not crazy about the tan and brown next to my face and skin ... the other items I have (bag, skirt, shoes) are worn far away from my face. Will see if any make it to the sales ... doesn't seem too likely as the one I tried on today was the only one left in the store. I did like it, and had I not seen the one I already have, I might have thought it was perfect. Tried on an Equipment sweater ... did not love the neckline or the fit. Fit was great on both the Joie pieces I tried on. I will probably buy this line again. It's nice to have a deep selection locally now. So with my gift card I ended up buying makeup instead ... stocked up on a basic item.

Have a lot on my to-do list (i.e., to-spend list) over the next few months ... so I may not buy anything else this season.

PS eizhowa, are you sure your skintone is yellow and not pink like mine?

Red your parka is lovely  I am sure you will get a lot of wear out of it !

Eizohwa, I missed you guys too  I tried to follow from afar but I was not really in the mood for clothes/shopping/Pinterest etc :( But I am glad so many of you were able to tick off things from your wishlist :D

Joie, I saw a couple of nice pieces here and there and there is especially a nice one I really liked on the outnet. Glad to know this brand has your approval ta-ta ^_^

Jeans, I was not lucky as you with high street shops. I have one Mango pair which hold well but the Zara one after one wash was awful & same for the H&M :(

Me: now that I am back in the browsing game, I am facing my first dilemma regarding a gorgeous dress. I have been looking for a black cocktail dress in ages. At first I wanted it to be really versatile so I would be able to wear it during daytime/work. Sadly, I did not find THE dress. Especially since I have other priorities at the moment such as getting a cheap/mid-range coat ASAP while I save for the Burberry either Zara or Love Moschino, getting some ankle boots or slightly higher boots - but the ones I want are almost as expensive as the Burberry coat so I am trying the saving method for these one as well.
But I don't know what is going on on the outnet (is there a special sale ending tomorrow?) but there is a gorgeous little asymmetrical wool black dress with a twist which was majorly discounted but still almost as expensive as the coat I am saving for. Of course, it is the last available in my size and I feel like I absolutely need that dress :ninja: I don't know whether to go for it or just sit on it and wait for something cheaper..
