^looking forward to it :D

And thank you - somehow I feel like they look like something nurses at the hospital wear, but I really like them anyway :ninja: I think they will look great with my black dresses for summer - and with my new headband.

.. and yes, silk can be machinewashed, but cotton is so much easier to clean when you spill tomatosauce on it :wink: I don't know why, but when I wear silk I am always so weary that I will spill something that wont come of, so I rarely wear my silk items, and that just seems stupid. I've tried, but I think I'll just stop buying (light) silk items for now - I am fine with dark silk - not white.

^Aha, yes, I don't own any white silk so I don't know about that. I am very happy with my black washed silk shirt:smile:

^I have a silk slip, that I am very happy with as well. I just don't wear light silk, since I am to anxious that I will spill anything.

I really want those white Birkenstocks that I was talking about in my last post, and it is not like they are expensive, but I have the black birkenstocks from last year (and two other pairs of sandals, that I probably not will be wearing this year though), and it is not like I need sandals. I think that I will mostly wear the whites if I get them, and then I wont get much wear out of the black ones, which seems a bit silly, but on the other hand the white ones would make a lot of my outfits look more put together, I think.

Great wardrobe additions everyone! :flower:

I love your self-made dress Nymphaea! It's been too long since I sewed anything and I really miss it.

eizhowa, the Samsøe&Samsøe dress looks great on you! :flower:

I am back from my Florida-trip, and I think I can safely say that my summer wardrobe no longer has any major gaps...:innocent: It's a good thing I don't live in the US, as much as I am jealous of the availability and variety you have over there I now understand how easily a shopping problem is born! :ninja:

I was also surprised at the extreme inconsistency in sizing. I know we've discussed that before, and I thought it was pretty bad here, but the vanity sizing of some American brands is just crazy. I found my size was anything from 00/00P to 4/4P. I have a small frame, but I'm definitely not super skinny and a double-zero is just ridiculous. I've considered ordering things from J.Crew in the past, and guesstimated my size to a 2 or maybe even 4, but I guess I would have been swimming in those.

I did love the great selection of petite sizes though! It was so nice to be able to try on clothes and not have to immediately start thinking how I can alter these to fit.

Betina: Yes I remember that slip:wub: I am very envious of that slip:smile:

Caramel: Oooooh, what did you buy?:bounce: Yes, the sizing is ridiculous... I always contact J Crew for actual garment measurements.

@Ta-ta: I have some outfits where the black ones would be better (with jeans, e.g.) I also consider them more classic, and I am going on a music festival this year, and if I am wearing sandals there, they are definetly not going to be white :wink:

@Caramel: welcome back! I wanna know what you bought as well. Crazy about the vanity sizing. I wear the same size now, that I did 10 years ago, when I was a teenager - I am definetely not as skinny and without any form of booty, like I was back then..

@Eizhowa: I love it, but actually I am considering making it into a top instead. When I wanna wear a slip dress I use the one with the lace detailing from Magali Pascal. I don't think I have worn the one in washed silk since AW13-14.

Bought the stripe tee on my wishlist monday - wore it both tuesday and yesterday - very happy with it. Also I have been wearing my headband every day since I got it.

What:shock: :o Is it so bad to have backups?:P Is the one you want to hem the one you wore with the leather skirt? I would imagine that having a slip top with an integrated skirt slip would be kind of great:wink:

Caramel: Oooooh, what did you buy?:bounce:

Let's see...

* Sunglasses - I have long had a pair of Wayfarers on my wishlist, but when I tried them on in the store they didn't look great on me, so I ended getting a pair of RayBan Laramie instead (in black). Aaand then I also got a black pair from Michael Kors and a brown pair from Kate Spade. :innocent:

* Black w.white stripes ponte knit sleeveless dress (perfect everyday summer dress)- J.Crew
* Blue chambray sundress (w/spaghetti straps and flared skirt)- Banana Republic
* Black knit dress with flared skirt - Loft
* Navy shift dress with pink and white print - Loft (I was a little unsure about this one...it looked amazing on, and the shape and fit is the best one I've found for me ever, but the print doesn't feel quite like me. It will be good for occasion-wear in summer though, and I want to try to trace it and make a sewing pattern from it too).
* Navy linen skirt - J.Crew
* Blue/white striped woven top - J.Crew
* White embroidered top - J.Crew
* White button down shirt - Banana Republic
* Black Southport Avenue Mini Carmen bag - Kate Spade (I intended this as a birthday gift for my sister-in-law, but I like it so much I think I may keep it for myself...:ninja: )

I think that's everything...will see if I can find some pictures online. :flower:

^that banana republic dress sounds great - do you have any pictures of it?

Impressive list Caramel! :cool: It seems like a very nice summer wardrobe. Curious for pics. ^_^ Glad you found many nice things.

Thats actually a great idea!

outnet

Just ordered these ... yes, I do have this same sandal in black suede :wink: But I really love them, and at 58% off and in my size, they had my name on them. This is #5 for spring, so anything else will need to count toward fall. I would like another pair of denim trousers, or another pair of pants, but for something that was popular on the runway, denim trousers sure have been hard to find lately. I did find one pair I could try ... and a pair of pants I like, but not in my size. Hoping someone else will have them ...

PS The Outnet just shipped my order ... less than 3 1/2 hours after I placed it. I think that must be a record! Pretty impressive ...

This quote I read there sums up my wardrobe approach at the moment:
"The more that I actively like my clothes, the less of them I need. "

I buy less clothes, but every piece I buy is a piece I love. Today I bough a new pair of sneakers, I needed a replacement for an old pair. They'll bring some interest to the mono-grey outfits I've been wearing lately.

@Ta-ta: those are so great - I can understand why you want another pair :smile: I really know that feeling btw - how hard it can be to find something so simple..

Thank you for the blogtip - will read that once I have a little more time on my hands.

@Fewormany: those sneakers are seriously cool!

I am trying out something new. In Copenhagen we have an organisation called Chare, which is similar to a library - but with clothes. You pay a monthly fee to be a member, and a very small amount (5 dollars) whenever you loan something. Then you bring it with you home for a period of 2-3 weeks, and then bring it back - dry cleaning is included in the price.

I like owning my clothes, but from a sustainability perspective, this is not a bad idea at all. After the huge wardrobe-cleanout I did before going to the fleamarket, my wardrobe is very simple, monochrome and small. I like it that way, but at the same time I will need some statement pieces to avoid getting bored - but since I have a tendency of growing tired of statement pieces quite fast, this might be a solution. Also I imagine it will be great for occasionwear - I don't think I would mind if I never have to buy a party dress again.

I hope I can find the time to drop by during the next week - unfortunately their opening hours are somewhat limited.

^Libraries also have very limited opening hours. Got to stick to the theme you know:wink: Sounds like a great concept. I would love to not own a single evening dress. I would worry that the best pieces would get stolen from the store though...It kind of sounds like a shoplifters (with 5 usd to spare) dream:huh:

I loved the blog as well, Fashionista-ta!:D
