I have my first derm appointment tomorrow lucky it was only a couple of months wait not 6 like my other one.. Any hints?
Probably too late but ask for samples of products to try if he/she recommends any topicals-R/x or otherwise.
Seeing a new doc is a lot of trial 'n error at first since everyone's skin is so different.
It can get frustrating, time intensive and costly!

thanks but yeah I have already been.. She is putting me on roaccutane and considering I have tried everythingand have had bad skin for 10years now I'm happy with that.. Im being put on 20mg for 9-11months that way I dont get a huge amount of side effects as I am in the sun alot

Google failed me so, how come certain parts of my face dry after cleansing?

^Most cleansers will strip your face of its natural oils... So that's why I always moisturize after cleansing- even with an oil cleanser.

Danish, try a gentler, more moisturising cleanser - your face shouldn't feel tight or sore after cleansing, it means that your product is too harsh.

If I moisturise my face after cleansing can I still use the product?

The egg white mask thing sounds interesting..my acne used to be a lot worse when I was 15-18ish mostly because of genetics I think (my father had it) but it's gotten better now that I'm 21. I still struggle with my back sometimes, but not so much with my face.

how do you get rid of acne on your scalp?!

its annoying i cant even touch my scalp without breaking out(in cysts) there too. this is ridiculous.

Yes, if your skin needs it :flower: but I would still recommend using a gentler cleanser because if it's too harsh, you'll be stripping away the natural oils your skin produces and this can lead to even more irritated skin. Personally I find it's best to treat your skin overall as gently as possible, and only use more aggressive products where you have acne.

emailme., have you tried a natural shampoo? I know for a lot of people acne around the hairline can be caused by the products they use - try to use as little as possible and see if it clears but honestly I would see your doctor because it may be something other than acne, or there may be some medicated shampoo you could use  good luck! :flower:

So.. this was probably already discussed, and some might think this is a silly question. But is it true that food can give you bad skin?

If you're female and suffer from acne as a result of PCOS, doctors recommend that you modify your diet as one of the first ways to tackle it and improve the symptoms.

Outside of that, it seems to be a matter of how each individual reacts to certain foods which have gained a reputation as possible triggers for bad skin. Some point to hormones in dairy products, while others would talk about the acid-forming properties of certain foods, but there's no overall factual status for any of it, only personal experience.

its nothing medical im pretty sure. i just comb through my hair with my hand all the time and that causes acne. its really annoying since my hands arent ridiculous dirty. i also use a dandruff shampoo and im not a fan of washing my hair(every 2-3days).

Yes!!! Definitely, but it varies from person to person. I think the general rule is to stay away from junk food and not have too much sugar.

Thanks for all your feedback. I don't have acne and never have, but I've been eating a few McDonalds recently and my skin has become dry and blotchy.

i think you all should try taking chlorella for a few months

also eat blueberries, drink water, taking other supplements wouldn't hurt
make sure you don't overwash/irritate your face
if you dehydrate your skin it will take FOREVER for it to heal up seriously

Yeah it's amazing how Mcdonalds can waste a weeks worth of exercise and skincare...

The honey mask didn't do good for my skin, so I got Vichy Normaderm (I used one before, from Clean & Clear, didn't like it), to help my skin. In one week, my skin is not so bad anymore, and I don't have an oily skin anymore, it's really good. My acne is going away, finally. ^_^

WATER, WATER, WATER, WATER. I HOPE YOU'RE ALL DRINKING YOUR WATER!

seriously. i won't excuse myself from using those caps because i want to stress how IMPORTANT this is!

lately i've been getting horrid pimples and wondering where they were coming from after having had such a great month with my skin and routine (which i posted a while ago). then, i realised, since school started back up again, i haven't even been drinking half the amount of water i'd been drinking during vacation. i'm positive this is what caused it to come back, as i haven't changed anything else.

besides, it's good for you in so many other ways ^_^
