how do u use vinegar on bacne? do you just dab your back with cotton wool soaked in vinegar? and normal vinegar or apple cider vinegar?

Best to treat are Dr.Murad and Dr.Brandt.

Murad Vitamine C treatment, otherwise Dr.Brandt Microdermabrasion Body and over it the Lineless Infinite Moister

i just spray it all over my body while in the shower with a spray bottle.
you can use any kind you want but i use the white vinegar or japanese rice vinegar because ACV is very, very smelly.

:)

About the vinegar thing...Do you spray it on the acne-prone areas and let it rest their for a time period? Or do you just immediately wipe it away?

I've been eating nothing but vegetables and fish for the last month and my acne still doesn't go away! %@$^&*%^% I've virtually gone on a rabbit diet and cut off most meats and oils and it's STILL not helping!

I hate this! I honestly don't get why people like Dita von Teese don't have ANY pores on their face. Or even people on the streets.

Does it all just chalk up to genetics? Neither of my parents have acne, so I don't get why I'm struggling with it.

How much water have you been drinking? If your diet is right and its still not improving then it may be something else.. Maybe see a doctor if you havent already?

yes yes yes!! water really helps! drink at lest 8 big glasses of water per day. you'll feel better too! :D

My acne is coming back lately, but it's all on one side of my face. Have the odd pimple and zit on the other side as well but nothing that's out of control and should be fixed within a few weeks.

Otherwise, it's probably the worst I had in years, just little spotted pimples and zits across the temple down towards the cheek (some pics here), and a few under my eyebrows. Any idea what I could be using for treatment? Didn't bother putting on makeup at all today and won't be for a while I think, just let it breath and whatnot. But any sort of cleansers or even spot treatments would be appreciated. Oh and using Cetaphil at the moment, the moisturizer and cleanser.

i used to have pretty bad acne and am now dealing with scars but i'd like to share how i GREATLY reduced the several pimples that would annoyingly show up from time to time (especially before my period).

my routine which i still continue now (because it's helping with fading scars and prevents new blemishes) includes the use of calamine lotion. i actually read about it for the first time here and then continued research on it only to find fantastic reviews on acne.org. i have to admit the first week i used it, i was disappointed because all the reviews i had read went along the lines of "i used this last night and woke up with a MUCH clearer face!", etc, and it just wasn't that fast of a result for me. i stopped using it after about 2 weeks because i hadn't noticed much of a change except for the fact that large pimples dried out faster.

anyway, i recently started it again except now i'm using more: at night i wash my face with a neutrogena body wash that's made for problem skin - it's called neutrogena dermo-protecteur (pour peaux a problemes) (i'm in france at the moment but i'm sure there would be an english equivalent). then after gently drying my face, i spray on my calamine lotion. i got it in a spray bottle form at the chemist and it cost about $5. i spread it around with a q-tip and before i go to bed it looks like i have a white face-mask on. my one is white, i've heard there's a pink one out there that goes on pink and i can only imagine how odd that must look.
in the morning i wash my face with clean & clear morning burst facial cleanser, pat dry my face again and very LIGHTLY apply the calamine lotion (too much and you'll end up looking like a ghost!). this time i spread it around with my finger and sort of "blend" it into my skin like you would with foundation. i moisturise with neutrogena oil-free moisture (for combination skin - HANDS DOWN the best moisturiser i have ever used), apply my make-up (i use maybelline oil-free powder finish foundation and that's it for my skin), and i'm good to go for the day!

sorry for the rather long description but i hope this helps someone. i can honestly say after a few days i have no new pimples on my skin, it's just scars i'm dealing with now - and as i said, they fade after time with the calamine as well. i really encourage that if you haven't already, to give calamine lotion a shot because it's incredibly easy to find and shouldn't cost you more than $10.

^ oh, and water. DRINK LOTS. AND LOTS. AND LOTS. OF WATER. i started drinking at least three 600mL bottles of water per day at the same time i re-started my calamine-lotion using, so i'm positive it has helped as well.

i've been reading a couple random pages on this thread and you all seem to know so much!
my doctor recently gave me tetracyclin so i've been using that combined with oil of oregano and a cleanser, and my skin seems to be clearing up a bit (i have a feeling i'm going to have a major break out soon though) but i still have all of these dark spots on my face...
they're flat and a light brown-pink-redish colour.
i have no idea how to get rid of these and it's so annoying and ugly.
help?!
thank you :flower:

^ i have those too. from my experience they just fade over time, it just takes patience and a good concealer until they've gone away! but i've read that lemon helps. i've never tried this but apparently it fades marks. although this really depends on your skin type - it can end up looking worse on sensitive skin.

Thanks for the tips serenade ^_^ I might just give this a go seeing my mom actually used some of that calamine lotion a little way back and you sound like the same sort of a skin as I do. And defiantly the water, noticed in the past few months the more water you drink, the less dry skin you get and it's generally good for your health as well.

i've said this before but it could be due to irritation and/or dehydrated skin. people with irritated skin are more prone to breakouts because the skin's natural barrier has been stripped away leaving it prone to infections. one way to help rebuild the skin's natural barrier is so to leave it alone and let a dead skin mask build, then once the skin heals, remove the mask and start cleansing with gentle things again like ... idk water. it's on acne.org and many people have tried it (mostly boys/men) and have had success. i am one of them, too. i washed my face overly too much because i thought i had dirt on my face. i used soap. it was the worse mistake i've ever made. my skin was tight. i was developing fine lines. i was breaking out left and right. i was devastated until i went to acne.org and read about leaving my skin alone completely and my face has done a total flip. i still try to leave my face alone as much as possible. i have learned that most of those creams and soaps out there don't help me much. they don't help anyone much. to be honest they make things worse ... but most people aren't going to believe me because they want to continue to waste money on products to feel glamorous. anyway, i just know that it helped me and it may help others but if other things work for other people i'm not knocking it. i just think you should try a natural and free way before you start spending your money on all these different things that make the situation worse. i just want to help people feel better about themselves not lead them down the wrong path. or the confusing path.

Oops, I replied in the flawless skin thread too early. I will copy/paste my post into here (If the mods don't mind) as it's more relevant in this thread.

----

Last time I posted in this thread I had big skin problems. They got worse. I created Acne from picking at what spots I had, and I was creating these problems by using so many products (including prescribed). I was also using sand-paper emulators such as St. Ives. After much delay I went on Roaccutane and things have no cleared up a lot. I'm now off it.

My complexion is yet to develop, but blemishes aren't visible unless you're quite close. I still have faint scarring. I'm going away this summer travelling and I should develop a tan. The vitamin A from the sun should do wonders. Also, I've improved my diet, though i'm still to do more to it. I'm getting more oily fish involved, for hope that it will help my complexion. I bought some cod liver oil too.

It's amazing what just not touching your face can do.

I've actually developed my first spot after coming off Roaccutane, and it's on my forehead where I barely got them before. It's so hard not to pick at it but i'm doing well. I blame my sweaty gym towel that I pamper myself with ever 5 minutes between sets.

has anyone tried that neutrogena wave thing??

Any ideas whether it;s any good for cleansing, or just another gimic?

Thanks
:)

you put the lemon on your face? i think i'm too scared to try that out lol but thank you for the help, i guess i just need to be patient.. :D

glycolic acid.

i recommend neostrata.

it hasnt failed me.

thank you!

yep, squeeze out some of the juice onto a cotton pad and apply straight to your face ^_^ of course if i'd never done it before, i'd just test it out on a small area to make sure i don't get worse...

thank you for the tip! maybe i'll muster up enough courage to try it out. these spots are so annoying i'm kind of desperate lol
