Hi,
i can feel your pain and understand it because happend to me and i learn a lesson after i spend thousand and thousand in products, medicines, doctors etc. I need to understand my body, to feed him well, and to listen to every sign.. and thats what i did. My unger made me quit smokin, no alcohol and just eat healthy and spend hours in places to read labels looking for compounds that in any way could be part of my inside problem. I found a lot of information and today my face even before my pms its clear...i work out and i feel a life more energy more friends more positive and gratefull to be a life in this world.. Im going to give you some web that you can go and search for the latest advences in science for example

Looking for things that might trigger the inside problem is such an important factor in treating skin. I have personally been going through this because even with the prescriptions from my derm. I was still experiencing breakouts. I decided to do some research on my own because the antibiotics I had been taking from the derm. were having negative effects on my overall health and not really doing anything else.

I found out about chloroyphyll supplements from another person on this forum and also started taking a medicine called Threelac which both deal with bacteria in the body. I have seen more results from starting these natural substances than I ever did using antibiotics.

I encourage everyone not to give up and to continue researching and thinking of new ways to look at what may be causing your skin problems:flower:

I agree fully about not giving up. It is so frustrating though I know. After having a clear complexion for like a month, I had a breakout. But I think I can deal with that, because I noticed my skin had gotten really dry, then it broke out. Solution, more moisture.

Can anyone give me tips, other than a facial peel, to lighten spots left from acne? It would be a great help.

can smoking trigger acne?

This is from the recent Cetaphil newsletter with a tiny bit of info on smoking and skin:

"Be a Quitter, Save Your Skin"
Good for you for keeping smoking out of your lifestyle! It deposits thousands of toxic chemicals into the body, and does a serious number on the skin, restricting circulation and making it harder to heal.

ugh today i had this zit on my forehead that looked sort of like empetiago (sp?)...no clue how i got it cause i am a freak about cleaning my skin (i think i got it in nyc though, probably with the water or something). and well at school today at least 7 people came up to me and said ,"you've got pen on your forehead"...god i felt so unhappy...i should have just told them i ran into a door

Does smoking actually harm your skin as much as it is supposed, or is the very negative approach to it more because of that it is dangerous and a 'dirty habit'?

I'm still not 100% clear after having 4 derms, trying loads and loads of products, and trying various 'masks' etc. It's really, really frustrating - but my skin is def. better than it was 3 years ago. But it's annoying to have to wear foundation all the time. :(

good lord where do i begin... i too suffer from the curse of acne and have tried nearly all - chemical, organic, prescription, over-the-counter, herbal, everything but urine (saw a thread on this btw??!).

mine's calmed down a bit so when i get the occasional breakout, i use this sulfur based product (forget what it's called but sold in drug stores) and i also use peter thomas roth sulfur/eucalyptus mask which does wonders for clarifying skin. i also use juice beauty green apple peel and jurlique face lotion.

though i am wondering what i can do to improve appearance of long time acne scars? both coloring and texture. i am trying to find some good retinol type of night lotion to accelerate peeling/regeneration. any recommendations?

Has any one tried the acne kit from MD Formulations, I heard great things about it. For those who have tried it, if you can post reviews for it, it'd be helpful.

I've never tried Evoclin but good luck :flower:!

Has anyone tried or heard something about MaMa lotion or NuCelle Mandelic Serum both containing AHA, for evening skin tone and whitening red spots or hyperpigmentation?? The reviews are really great, so I was thinking of ordering some. Someone with any kind of experience?

Would like to know this too, I've got quiet a few marks left from acne. But my derm said there's nothing I can do about it, but I don't believe him.

isn't that why people use whitening products? to lighten the sports? i thought retinol helps with these kind of things. cause it sloughs of the top layer <it makes your skin peel> ...so wouldn't that help?

The bleaching creams definitely help, containing hydroquinone (2%) or hydroquinone free with kojic acid, azelaic acid and I dont know what else, and they "wash out " the hyperpigmentation you have, mostly by "killing" some melanocytes you have or blocking the enzymes they use, but somehow I am not for that option. I am more a mild peel option (you have more benefits from it), AHA home done peels, and since I have the same problem I must ask again if anyone heard about Mama lotion or NuCelle Mandelic Lotion.

cool!! always wonder what pee;s feel like...ha ha... never heard of it.google it. should be able to find a review on that product somewhere online. like make-up alley or something.

I am almost 20 and I STILL have bumps...I am thinking about going on birth control to smoothe my skin out....aargh

back acne.... I HAVE IT BAD!!!!!!!!! does anyone know what i can do to get rid of it? thanks....... :( i need to get rid of it before the summer time

^ I found the only really thing that helped for me was going on the pill but it definately helps if you use a cleanser on your back like neutrogena cream cleanser and wear breathable fabrics like cotton so you don't irritate the skin further. Hope that helps :)
