Keep using the retin-a. It is best for when you are sleeping.

If you are prone to break out then don't use Vitamin E just yet.

How about microdermabrasion? This treatment you can get from a qualified beauty salon. You can do this every 28 days.

Update!

well my ladies and gents, ive been using my treatment ( skintactix.com) for some four months..and i can honestly say that my skin is nearly completely clear! i can feel one or two blemishes that might come up, but if im lucky, the treament will pretty much clear them up before they surface...my skin is really good now, all i go out with in public is a little cream blush and lip balm.and i think i look FANTABULOUS!

i think my acne is a blessing in disguise actually, it forced me to lay off all the heavy makeup that would have seriously screwed my face up in the future...my grandmother, who is a GORGEOUS woman, after years of wearing foundation and powder and blush, etc. has very enlarged pores up close..but shes beautiful regardless! i just wouldnt want her pores...:ninja:

do i sound evil?

hello everyone,
I today have been told that sudocrem, its good for the skin, spots, eczema etc am just hoping, it is true.I do have it on this very min and i am gonna try it out for a week or too and see if i can see an improvement,if i do or dont i will come bk and let u guys know:.) Fingers crossed haha

i believe a couple ppl on this thread are applying aloe vera to their face. instead of buying aloe vera in a bottle, i recommend buying an aloe vera plant and using the leaves, it's soooo much better.

and for ppl w/oily skin: use the cetaphil facial cleanser as a lotion. my derm recommended and it's good for acne prone skin, since it's not all oily. it's useful for when ur acned skin is irritated from all the products, helps moisturize the skin and not make you break out.

omg so does that mean fonudation CAUSES enlargement of pores or does it acuse acne than when you pop it it causes craters? im so afraid now...what if i use those mineral foundation mixed with a normal luminizer ? whats the worst ingredient for acne?

also when yu look at ur grandma like when she is wearing foundation is it very obvious since the pores are huge does it sink into the pores?

i dont know why foundation does it,but it does TEND to enlarge the pores of woman who use the liquid/cream/cream-powder foundations, as far as I have seen...my way of thinking is that all those damn ingredients in the foundation get into the pores and eat them..i dont know if thats true, but thats what it looks like to me...the worst ingredient for acne is ANYTHING that will cause you pores to clog, things that you cannot completely clean out, and so will leav matter in the pore to fester and break down and cause bacterial infestation...best you stick with light mineral foundation as you suggest, or maybe something super sheer and light from companies that dont use anything too harsh, like almay and maybe some stuff from physicians formula, bare escentuals, etc etc..

when you look at my grandma after shes applied her foundation, her skin looks a tad more even, a bit more matte, but the pores are still visible..i cant tell that the foundation gets into them, but they probably do..she told me once that they are the way they are because she would often forget to wash her face at night when shed go to bed, because she was always so tired

the lessoned learned? either wash your face NOMATTER what or dont wear anything at all

Can someone answer my question on what exactly is a blackhead and what comes out when you 'squeeze' it?

What exactly is the 'junk food' that induces pimples?

i dont think that junk food does induce pimples, however, there are some studies that show some people have a sensitivity to dairy and wheat products, and consequently get acne..you can read more about it at :

for acne and wheat products:
http://skintactix.com/acne_&_wheat.htm

Acne and milk
http://skintactix.com/acne_&_milk.htm

some other stuff thats really interesting and essential to the minimization and the termination of acne can be found here:
http://skintactix.com/acne_&_essential_fatty_acids.htm

also, heres an interesting article if you are interested in why women might get acne:
http://skintactix.com/female_acne_issues.htm

and this is my favourite. if you are interested in knowing why BENZOYL PEROXIDE IS DAMAGING TO THE SKIN, READ THIS:
http://skintactix.com/benzoyl_peroxide_skin_damage.htm

basically, the whole skintactix website is super informative...i hope this helps you! :flower:

I don't know what a blackhead is Eternity but I know if you get one of those fun little implements from the bodyshop, loads of crap comes out of your face! It is addictive I tell you.

Also you know how the minute people get famous, their skin goes from okay to exceptional? Is that the work of a dermatologist do you think? I mean there is nothing wrong with my skin other than a bit of left over acne scarring (I play with my skin a lot :ninja:) and some blocked pores. It is worth seeing someone?

Oh my friend had one of those! It does look like a torture implement. I never get black heads though...just the rare horrible spot that doesn't seem to surface and just looks like a big red lump, they're the worse

You guys, eat onions for good skin! I'm serious. Raw onions contain sulfur and its super healthy for your skin.

Just some additional input, I've been using skintactix for oily skin for about two weeks now, the stuff is amazing. I wasn't sure it would do anything for me, since I've used just about every product out there. I'm reacting as they said some people do, and have small breakouts [we're talking about pimples that go away over night and are really tiny but heal really quickly], and even then, my skin still looks better. It's gotten rid of some scarring, and really cleared up the larger pimples. It kind of dried out my skin, but I use Cetaphil moisturizer on top of it, and my skin looks AMAZING in the morning. Highly recommended!

I use both Cetaphil cleanser and moisteriser. They are the best!!!
