White heads are inside your skin, black heads are "open". Never squeeze ANY zits/pimples/white- or black heads you have, acne-related or not. You will get scars and the pore will get a new infection straight away.

Blackheads are not pimples or zits. A blackhead is just dirt in the pore that you can see. You need to get it out any way possible, even if it's extraction because it sits in the pore and makes it bigger. A blackhead could just be makeup or skin that's in pores. You won't get an infection unless you stab or cut yourself trying to get it out, and probably not even then.

Scars can come from squeezing zits and cystic acne because they go deep into the skin. Don't ever let anyone but a medical doctor do anything to a large zit or cystic acne. The only exception is a noninvasive technique like the electrical whatchamacallit wand or pen used by aestheticians. If an aesthetician tries to extract that kind of acne, then stop going.

The main things that need to be done asap for that kind of zit is a steriod injection or freezing, or possible lancing by a doctor. It depends on how long you've had it and where it is.

My skin looks soooooo much better than it used to!:woot: I think that's because I've been exfoliating and moisturizing more.

my acne miracle...
i went to the dermatologist and she gave me Doxycyclinemono, an oral antibiotic medication as well as Zoderm cream to use along with it. 3 weeks later, my skin completely cleared up and was not dry like what happens when you take accutane. This worked for my acne but obviously wont for everyone.. but my point is going to the dermo is the best solution.

I have stopped washing my face PERIOD in the morning. Only a rinse with warm water. And guess what? My skin looks better these past few days.

hmm interesting ^ ill try it! :) i have a bumch of red bumps and spots that just dont go away.. ive had them for months~

I've tried just washing my face with water in the morning, and when I use toner, I see the cotton pad turn really icky and yucky.

I never go without washing my face in the morning anymore.

I think I'm going to go see a dermatologist soon. I've always had acne but ever since I started Ortho Tri-cyclen, its been worse. I'm so insecure about my skin now :(

i've always had the clearest skin, but ever since i went off the pill, i've been breaking out quite a bit. i feel like i have to go back on the pill now, it made my skin so nice...

im also taking lots of vitamin e...

i find applying cocoa butter before you go to sleep lessens the inflamation of any eruption i will be getting; often times it makes them disappear...

thats what i would have thought..oh well some things work for everyone...i know lots of people here told me to try vitamin E for my redness and scars from th epimples and it doesnt work for me :(

^Do you have very dry skin? I've read that vitamin e oil increases the dryness.

i do have dry skin in winter liek flaky dry.....yucka nd oily in the summer ( but i can control the oil).. actualyl the vitamin E doesn't increase the dryness..it really doesn't do anything for me :) oh well lol

^ Do you keep rubbing your face gently for at least 30 minutes a day then leave it on and wash it off before you go to bed? It takes two months to start seeing a difference on average, but when you put it on first time, your skin automatically feels softer..

PS: It's the capsule you break, then the liquid in a bottle..

oh wow euro fashion junkie no i dont lol.. i rub it on then leave it on for bed ha...so i guess what you just described is the proper way?
and i use the bottle of johnsons pure vitamin E..

im reading on all this negative liquid foundation info! I was just going to ask why i would have some tiny red spots..that aren't even bumps...but they're just their either from a previous pimple or whatever..but Ive had them for months!! it must be my cover girl liquid foundation!
does anyone know if neutrogena still has a makeup line? because I have to shop for a new oil free foundation i guess. Ive searched shoppers and zellers.. and havn't come accross the neutrogena products!

That's not true! I used to use liquid foundation every day and then stopped for over a month and nothing happened. Pimples are largely hormonal, and for me, not using foundation was pointless. Now I use it again to hide the pimples.

I seriously can't take the bumps and blackheads anymore! I've started a new routine of cleansing, toning and mousturizing every evening and morning, and I hope it does something.

Does anyone know how to squeeze or get rid of your blackheads by yourself? I've tried, but they seem hard and they really don't want to budge.
