The Acne Thread

ah apparently theres only two in canada and the location is too far for me.

Does anyone know what to use for dry skin? Sometimes I just wash my face with soap and water but ugh....I think that's making it worse.

u have dry skin and acne? or just dry on your cheeks?
or maybe you have normal skin but the soap is too harsh.

well there are many great cream cleansers, they are gentle and not drying

cath85, i went to whole foods market and bought that clay tonight. it works like a charm! amazing! thank you so much! :flower: :heart::heart::heart::heart: karma for you, lady!

question... what's amlactin 12% for? is it a cream? how does it work?

sorry I didn't have time to come in here over the past days. but I'm so happy I could help you! my skin is still not perfect, but I hope it will get better if I keep using it!

ooh...im willing to try the bentonite clay. Is it available in per se walmart, shoppers drugmart, or sallys beauty shop. Maybe the grocery store or a herbal store of some sort in Canada?

As fori ts effects, what exactly will it do? Will it suck the oil out of pimples immediately? Also would it make the skin less discoloured and more glowing? How about downsides like dryness and making the clay itself?

I bought it online I don't know I didn't find it in any store here. but online there was no problem, but of course the shipping costs a little sth too lol

for me it sucks out the blackheads in itself, you can really see that there are less after you used it. and I think my skin is a little more glowing after using it. I have dry skin actually, but it didn't make drier, if anything it's a little more "greasy", but nothing really annying for me. the clay is a little unpractical to make, that's why the lazy myself doesn't do it often enough lol actually it's not the clay making that's complicated, but the getting it off afterwards. but it's worth it!

thank you again. i don't have acne at all, only blackheads on my nose which aren't very visable, but when i look closely in the mirror, i can see them and it drives me nuts so hopefully this will take them all away! :woot: thank you!:heart::heart:

Gia, I have very dry and sensitive skin too (due to Accutane).
You should try pure vitamin e oil, it's not expensive and very good imo.

Does anyone here who gets acne use moistureiser? And if you do, does i make acne worse?
My acne isn't as bad as it was, but I wish it would just die.
It tends to just be there to make me feel paranoid.

I get mild acne sometimes and I use moisturizer. I need to because I have extremely dry skin.I make sure products that are noncomedogenic because I once used this heavy cream and I realized it was clogging my pores.

I use moisturizer about once a day, twice if it feels drier. It doesn't bother my skin. I use either olay complete lotion or a light hydrating gel I got from my esthetician.

I get extremely dry skin also and so have to use moisturiser, as in, water makes my skin dry.. It's ridiculous.

Do you have a like unusual diet or something? I'm trying to figure out what people who have really dry skin have in common and I have a really really weird diet.

I find that I breakout because my skin is dry. If I use products that are overly drying or skip moisturizer I breakout terribly. As long as I keep my skin hydrated I may get one or two tiny pimples once in a while but nothing major. Maybe you're the same? I used to describe my skin type as "acne prone" until I realized that it was just sensitive to harsh products.

As I said earlier in this thread, I would recommend Boscia Clear Complexion Kit to anyone looking for a non-harsh way to get rid of acne :flower:

Well, I'm a vegetarian. I do wonder if that is positive of negative for my skin type. What is so unusual about your diet?
I've always had difficult skin. When I was younger, I had pretty bad eczema.

I think certain foods are connected with eczema  but I don't know about just dry skin...I guess good oils help?
But if you get dry skin and you're breaking out, it's because when you wash your face you're removing some of the natural oils. Obviously the harsher the product, the more oils are stripped - therefore your skin has to overcompensate and produce more oil...

Adding moizturizer to my routine has really helped. I LOVE *shocking* Wet N Wild Acne Oil Free Moisturizer. It's seriously the only moisturizer that doesn't break me out and keeps my skin so hydrated. PLUS it's only $6!
