The Acne Thread

Zineryt isn't working as effectively as it was. I have had two awful spots on my forehead, between my eyebrows and various other smaller spots or blemishes.
I'm going to try using Oxy Face Wash too, see how that goes.

I've definitely got to go through the last 10+ pages of the thread to see what you guys have been using.

have you tried bentonite clay? it's the only thing that helped for me and it did everything but dry out my skin

I've just researched this and I'm going to buy some I think,to use it to make my own face masks with tea tree oil ^_^

Oh Daniel :flower: How long have you been on it now? It should still work in time :)

Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash & Mask from Neutrogena contains bentonite ;)

Ok I havnt posted in a while because I didnt want to jinx anything. Skin is looking a lot better than before, but I have really really bad dry skin. Did any of you guys get that, if so what did you use?? thanks

^Vichy Nutrilogie 2. A thick emollient cream gets me through bad winter days of dry chapped skin. I heard La Roche Posay Antihelios is also thick.

The only thing that has helped me is retinaldehyde products. Make a huge difference; now I use Avene Eluage at night with Avene Diacneal for spot treatments.

^La Roche Posay products are all very good for whatever they say they do,if that makes sense ^_^

My skin did get a little dry (probably not helped that I would do face masks all the time whilst on zineryt).I don't remember using any form of moistoriser for the first few weeks of using it because I was scared it would ruin the effects of zineryt (It won't!!) but after that I used a neutrogena norwegian formula moistoriser which did the trick

Glad it's helping you :D

i prefer Avene than La Roche Posay.. it contains more thermal water.. but using La Roche Posay has cured me of everything on my face. it also worked as hell.

I'm 19, I had spots during my early teens, but nothing compared to now. I have no idea why, I have a really good diet, i'm very fit. But they just wont stop, and the scars that there leaving behind are awful! I can't even imagine going out without my foundation....it's really depressing!

i had exactly the same problem. i was 19 when i got terrible acne all over my face, especially on my cheeks, which was really strange.. it doesnt usually happen on somebody's cheeks. and.. the worst part was.. that i couldnt do anything with my face. nothing helped me. even roacutane!! completely nothing. i had this acne for, like, 1,5 years.. it was soooo depressing.. i even went to sleep with my boyfriend with foundation on.. because i was so embarassed with the way i looked. you all can imagine how this feeling works..
and like.. couple of months ago it started to get better. just like that... i did nothing. i just put on my regular foundation (clinique or unifiance by la roche posay) and i started only to use la roche posay products and spray my face with a lot of thermal water.. now there are no visible leftovers of my acne.. i have a great face and withouth exaggeration i can say that my life has just started...

i got to speak with a lot of people about my acne. they said it was stress (1 year at university) and bad eating habits (when you have terrible diet acne starts on your cheeks)

i am sorry for so much info.. i hope it will help somehow..

my story is similar, although I had acne over a longer period of time, for over 5 years I'd say.
I tried everything (except roaccutane which I never dared to try), but what really helped I think was stop using foundation (it was hard at the beginning to dare go out without it believe me!), eat more fruits and in general more healthily. what had a great effect was green tea, I drink 2-3 cups a day and I still notice that when I drink less my skin gets worse again. I still have breakouts, but it's far less horrible than it was some time ago. What helped me a lot was stop worrying about my skin all the time, which I was able to do once I noticed that it was improving. it's like a vicious circle sometimes and you need to find the way out of it.

^^ you know. i noticed the same with started worrying so much. but its really hard when you have to look in a mirror and see this calamity which is your face actually. patience is the solution somehow.

when it comes to stop using foundation.. i started to use only drug store foundation like i said.. unifiance by la roche posay and it really helped me. i believe it contains something with anti-bacteria, which must be really strong.

It's something I found online, you basically eat nothing but apples for three days, its suppose to be a really good detox, and it's suppose to help your skin. I dont know if it actually worked...I did only do it for a day and a half. I woulnt recomend it for acne.....but i would for weight loss, I lost nearly 4 pounds in a day. Thats the reson I stopped it, I didnt want to lose weight!

wow, 4 pounds?! Did you exercise or anything? Or just didn't eat anything but apples?

YOu eat nothing but apples....you should eat four to ten in a day, I could only manage 4, on the first day, and four the second day...until I stopped and had some real food that eveing. Now that I look back on it doing the apple fast wasnt the cleverest thing in the world, not only did i lose the weight i had chest pains for a whole week..not fun!!....It will help you lose a lot of weight, but it is not good for you!!

That apple diet is absolutely ridiculous, if you want to get potentially life-threatening diseases caused by malnutrition then go ahead.

On a happier note, my skin is looking a better. I take 30-45mg of zinc a day along with 500mg of evening primrose oil to regulate my hormones. The Zineryt then gets rid of any bacteria in my skin and then the rest is down to moisturisers and face wash.

i know it was ridiculous...............but my skin was soooo bad i would have literally tried anything.

speaking of 'literally tried anything' once i even get a knife and i wanted to 'scrub' my face out of acne... yeah. olga spell 'desperation'.

With regards to wearing foundation...I used to think that by not wearing it you wew letting your skin 'breath',I don't remember where I read the following, but apparently it's not true :)
