All antibiotics are a temporary solution and usually wear off in effectiveness. I'm going to a dermo on the 8th thank goodness. I need roaccutane.
Since my dad came home from his abroad job my skin has gone downhill, probs from stress. Ughh I have a headache from the horrible lumps on my forhead and my cheek and chin are bad.
I thought it was all getting better too

I want to know what people think about tazorac? I think I might go to my derm for it.

It works really well to clear up dead skin and help with scars, but as far as preventing acne, it doesn't do much for me so I need to combine it with something else that will do that for me. I'd still recommend it though 'cause it's very helpful for my skin, and I personally haven't gotten any bad side effects from it like the intense dryness, flaking, or increased sensitivity many others seem to get.

I just want to write about what I use to control my acne. I used to use prescription products like differin/duac/benzaclin but my skin has gotten so used to the chemicals in them that they don't work well anymore. So after some research and testing on my part i came up with a routine that really does work. It doesn't necessarily get rid of my acne overnight, but within a work week a zit will be reduced down to nothing more than a simple mark.

I use tea tree oil on a q-tip and just dab it on all of my trouble areas (temples, cheeks, forehead) and then wait a few minutes for it to dry and use Tea Naturals citrus moisturizer. I got it at a health food store and I really like it! It has all natural ingredients and essential oils like jojoba and grapeseed. Every night I do an aspirin mask of just 4-8 aspirin pills with some honey and leave it on my face for 15 minutes to exfoliate and "scrub away" acne marks, afterwards I dab on tea tree oil again and moisturize as usual. If it's really late at night then I'll just scoop a bit of sugar in my palm and use that as an exfoliator.

I like the way my face is looking so far (i've been doing this for about a month) but i wish i could find a more powerful mask to get rid of my left over acne marks

I've been trying the Murad Clarifying cleanser + Exfoliating acne treatment gel and I thought it was okay, it didn't make it worse so much it didn't really help with the few spots of acne I have left on my right side of my face and one stubborn pimple left on my chin. Hormones I'm guessing, doesn't help I just gotten my monthly gift an couple of days ago, my skin can't seem to win.

And I know the feeling fotogenic, I feel like I have rather good skin (smooth, small pours) just acne prone and those annoying acne marks or scars kinda ruin it all. Fortunately a light powder usually does the trick but someday I'll like to go makeup free and not feel a bit self contentious... has me thinking a trip to the derm and see if theirs any possibilities left.

Recently i've started to get some pimples on my cheeks, a bit more than usual so i've been driving myself mad with what to use. Has anyone ever tried the acne solutions kit from Clinique? I've been hesitant to try since my skin is a bit sensitive.

I really really just wanted to put my two cents in this thread

I used to have horrible skin from not washing off makeup properly and using too many different products but now I only ever get a few pimples some days or even none and I have to thank ..

Kosmea muslin face cloth is amazing. I was sceptical at first but it works like a treat and it truly deep cleanses your skin , obviouslly this alone won't help but it is an essential key to keeping my skin looking tip top.

Neutrogena Deep Clean cream cleanser.

It hasn;t caused me to break out at all and in the weeks I've been using it I can deffinitely see very few pimples.. its drying though so remember to use a good moisturiser

Ground Flaxssed

I take 4-5 teaspoons a day in water and I'm scared of stopping in case pimples return with a venegance Its deffinitely helping.. it also makes your skin smooth as well if you take it for a few weeks tops



To clean makeup off I use a separate cleanser

All of this is pretty drying so I use a moisturiser that doesn't break me out when I wear makeup [ ps I love the DHC lasting white cream foundation ]

guys im having a problem!

ive been using gylcolic acid for a year now and hasnt let me down until now.

glycolic have prevented me from getting bad acne and for two weeks now ive been getting pimples. Mind you the glycolic is still doing its charm for my skin and making the break out minimal.

Ive also chosen to change from 3 to 2 percent glycolic acid cream(same brand) before this all happened so i dont really know whats causing this. im thinking its from my diet. i started drinking juice and i think less water. i also have been getting "sneezing and watery eyes" allergy from the change of season. i dont really know how to pinpoint it but its been a really dramatic change in my skin.

today i bought the neutrogena rapid clear pads that claim to get rid of acne in 8 hours. it got good reviews on makeupallley so im trying it out because i dont want to go back to horrible acne.

please help and offer me suggestions.

When the condition of my skin changes, diet is nearly always the source of the problem.

I steer clear of juice because my body interprets it as sugar and too much would cause me to break out. The main form of sugar in juice - fructose - is supposed to be healthier for you than the more processed sort you'd find in confectionary, but I don't feel there's much difference, I'm better off eating the whole fruit and getting fibre alongside the sugar. And if you're drinking juice which has added sugar, then the health benefits definitely decrease.

the juice i drink is orange mango organic jucie. i looked at the ingredients and theres nothing i cant recognize or pronounce.

no high fructose, amyhtepyblahdiblah fancy scientific misleads...

Check the nutritional info section which shows you how much of the carbohydrate sugars and how much is starch. For some people, juice is perfectly fine, but if you're keen on eliminating sugars in general, juice could be something to reduce in favour of solid fruit.

so i was searching about the orange juice/acne correlation and found a thread about it on acne.org

i didnt know orange juice can break you out but i guess it makes sense.

i've also started it today, how many mg do you take? I take 30

I used other pills for over a month (a lighter treatment) and it helped dissapear the acne on my chin/above upper lips but my cheeks /sides eyebrow area are still the same, therefore my dermatoligst made me switch

this may sound really stupid, but sometimes i think it is so unfair that there are people who have flawless skin, while i still have to fight with blemishes at the age of 21 *sigh* guess that's life....

i just wanted to ask if your acne has ever influenced your self-esteem to the point where you see blemishes on your skin that others are probably not even aware of when they look at you? sometimes i feel like my skin is so bad just because of one pimple, that others don't even see much. not to mention i really suffered from bacne in my teenage years. thankfully that has mostly cleared up now, but i have a ton of brown marks on my back. this absolutely keeps me from wearing anything that shows my back even a little bit because i feel so self-conscious about it

as a teenager I had an occasional blemish and now at age 23 my hormones have gone crazy covering my cheeks and chin in acne, my dermatologist is clueless as to why this happens to me because I'v already switched birth control pill which led to acnefree chin but my cheeks remain

my selfesteem has taken a big plunge, I used to be a freelance model so this is really bugging me/ makes me doomthink (don't know if this word exist in english), luckily my boyfriend is really supportive because I regularly have a hard time with it, if it was possible I would stay indoors all the time and not go anywhere but he always sweeps me away

I have very long hair and I wear it so that most of my acne is covered (so glad my chin and forehead are perfect), I just hate looking in a mirror because it reminds me how people see me, gosh I just hope it goes away as soon as possible

^ I use to have HORRIBLE acne in my early teen's and nothing would help until I went on Roacutane. Now in my late teen's I have what most may call flawless skin... If you are really suffering from break outs and it gets you down the best thing you can do is go to a dermatologist and take it from there...

I'm on 60mg a day. Going up after 10 weeks with any luck.
So glad to finally be doing this, been on silly antibiotics for far too long!
