The 'Authentication' Thread

leiah~The fakes are copies made in China, and they have a different fit than the authentic jeans. I don't know about these jeans specifically, since I haven't studied the fakes, but quite often the stitching will be different and if you pay attention to details the fakes are never 100% the same as the originals. My mother went to China on a business trip this fall, and she said that they had fakes of pretty much everything on every corner there. Bags, jeans (the Victoria Beckham jeans, among any other popular brand out there) you name it. So when buying outside of a trusted boutique one should be very veary because a lot of the fakes are so good it's difficult to spot them without being an authority on the particular item.

hi, quick question.

I wanted to bid on an item but noticed the seller said that only 'some forms of online payment' were acceptable. so i sent an email asking if he would take paypal. a few days later, he replied back saying it depends how my paypal is funded, through credit card or direct payment, bank transfer, etc.

i was wondering.. is this something thats common? or is this personal info i shouldn't divulge?

also.. though the item still has a $60 market value (its just sth not available in my part of the world, so i know the price), the bidding started at $1 with no reserve..

any help would be really appreciated :flower:

Anyone ever heard of Sac Belle (http://sacbelle.com/) ?

Their Louis Vuittons are insanely cheap (they claim it's because of low over-head, great contacts, etc.) but to me it seems fishy

Very suspicious....:ninja:

VainJane, I believe that site sells fake bags. According to Louis Vuitton Eluxury is the only licenced online seller. Therefore I presume that site just sells fake bags, otherwise Louis Vuitton would have made a public statement on their site. Also that site talks about retail price, and all Louis Vuitton prices are set by the store itself. No matter what country you are in the price is equivelant in all places.

hi there,
a little new to this forum, but i practically live in the marc by marc jacobs and MJ stam thread in the handbag section. i was wondering if you ladies know how to spot a fake on ebay as far as his clothes go. i just purchased a jacket on ebay, and i know not to bid on the stuff from china/hong kong or the items with just stock photo's but is there anything else i should be weary of???
