The Business of Magazines

^ Same in Toronto. Plenty of copies hanging out the Chapters stores I've been in.

Melancholybaby mentioned this in the cover rumour thread, but I think it also belongs here:

Greek Media Company is Closing Down

After 32 years of operation, Liberis Publications are forced to close down as they didn’t manage to get a rescue loan from the bank. In a letter to his employees, publisher Antonis Liberis noted, “I announce to you that today, hope has died.”

According to Lifo, employees have taken their personal items from the publishing company branches in Koropi. Within the next days some of Liberis Publications title deeds, including Ego, and Status magazines, will be transferred to Theoharis Filipopoulos’s Attica Media Publications.

However, no references have been made about the international title deeds. Theodoris Kyriakou owner of Dafni publications is said to have expressed interest and within the next days the Conde Nast group is expected to visit Greece to discuss the terms of conveyance concerning the magazines Vogue, Men’s Health, and Glamour.

The Liberis Publications Group included magazines such as Hello, Vogue, Glamour, Lifestyle, Status, Lucky, Prevention, Men’s Health, Focus, Geo, Ego, 7 Days TV, Tele-control and radio stations VFM and BEST Radio.

I dont want to be repetitive but it also saw several lefts in here.
Or that article was manipulated somehow or maybe it sold out in New York?

I don't care about Glamour and Men's Health, but it would be such a shame if Greek Vogue died. I never bought an issue though, but still.
Anyway, I doubt it will happen. I assume it is going to be published by another company.

The book is so good! Can't wait for Thursday and after that I can watch it over & over.

My sentiments exactly. I received the book last week and I haven't stopped looking at the wonderful content. I'm a massive admirer of Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele and to see a section featuring her work is most pleasurable. I love how the book is also informative.

I will source down the documentary online, just to hear Carlyne's accent.

I'm hoping the documentary turns up here on UK TV soon. HBO have a good relationship with Sky so I can see it coming onto Sky Arts..

Now that the Editor's Eye documentary has aired, does anyone know where we can watch it online?

The documentary is available on the HBO website, but only members in the States with subscription can view.

it is not available anywhere for free at this time... I have tried to find it but found nothing...:angry:

Robbie Myers Adds to the Team at ELLE

ADDING TO THE TEAM: Robbie Myers is staffing up at Elle, scooping up Carmen Borgonovo and Lori Goldstein for consulting gigs. Borgonovo will be focusing on Elle Accessories, the magazine Hearst Corp. folded in 2008 and revived earlier this year as a biannual. Myers needed some extra hands on the title after she lost her two highest-ranking accessories editors, Kate Davidson Hudson and Stefania Allen, in November; both were said to have left for personal reasons. Borgonovo, a former accessories editor at W and Vogue, was most recently at British Harper’s Bazaar as a senior style director and jumped to e-commerce site My-Wardrobe last month to be its editorial director, a position she won’t be leaving. Goldstein, a prolific stylist who’ll now be reporting to Elle creative director Joe Zee, is coming on board as a fashion editor at large.

That's interesting. I always loved Avril's work over at Elle Collections. I hope she brings some of that style along with her.

^Yeah, me neither. I'm mainly confused by the fact that it's with Vice magazine, one of the most boring, hipster-ish and pretentious magazines out there. Not sure what to expect from that union.
