They really should rename it Vogue France to make a distinction between the reprinted piece of crap incarnation and its previous glorious self that hosted such magical tributes to glamour and aspiration...
Paris is apparently no longer a key fashion market...go figure
What I am personally becoming increasingly tired with is the babble which comes along with each new hiring and firing, like Condé Nast don't expect us to know this is an immense cost-cutting exercise and a massive ego trip for the likes of Anna Wintour.
So who decides what image/editorial will be used on the cover?
Never in a million years have I imagined that Vogue will be without EICs
Vogue Itália don’t have a fashion director Vogue Spain don’t have one anymore. So I think that Vogue Paris will fire the Fashion Director too.For sure Head of Contents send their options to be approved by Edward or Anna....also for what i understand not all the issues will have the global covers, they still need to appeal their own market...
Interesting to know if both editions will keep their Fashion Director position... or just a fashion market director.
Fingers crossed this Louis Pisano doesn’t put forward Kendall Jenner for a cover:
And I’m doubtful it’s the best idea to be boasting about dragging the creative directors of the two biggest French fashion houses.
Even the AD are still creating good content (except the US one). I bought my boyfriend international titles of that magazine and was really, really surprised that they were thicker than my Vogues. The thing is, Conde Nast aren't devaluing all their magazines - yesterday I got my subscription copies of Tatler and World of Interiors, and it was mentioned in a recent press release here that Tatler will be left alone, and so the posh glamour remains unaffected on the pages, and the latest issue of The World of Interiors was well over 300 pages, and full of eclectic content like seeing the rooms inside shipwrecks.
So at Conde Nast, print is still alive in some places, and they do believe in retaining some traditional values... you're just not going to see them in Vogue or GQ.
