3.Balenciaga
4.Donna Karan
5.Pucci
6.Galliano
7.Celine
8.McQueen

I was wondering, why don't we make picks for the worst collections ??

1. Miu Miu
2. Roberto Cavalli
3. Loewe
4. Prada
5. Comme Des Garcons
6. Yves Saint Laurent
7. Marc Jacobs
8. Celine

2. Prada (first time in a long that her collection was actually beautiful and innovative rather than trying to be weird and edgy just for the sake of it)
00110m.jpg
00390m.jpg

2. Celine (I love that unlike most 'minimalist' designers, Celine actually makes clothes that look pretty)
00070m.jpg
00110m.jpg

4. Alexander Wang (he gets too much praise at times but I thought his most recent collection really deserved the accolades)
00240m.jpg
00380m.jpg

5. Emilio Pucci (love how they were able to introduce all the elements of romanticism while still keeping the looks very Pucci)
00070m.jpg
00280m.jpg

6. Mary Katrantzou (love and really respect the fact that she's doing her own thing, she's doing it well, and she's managed to somehow keep it fresh each season)
00060m.jpg
00280m.jpg

7. John Galliano (he's been doing much better work for his line than Dior, and if this ends up being his last collection, he definitely left on a high note)
00050m.jpg
00200m.jpg

8. Jean-PIerre Braganza (never even heard of this designer before, but I'm going to keep up with him from now on for sure)
00010m.jpg
00080m.jpg

9. Ann Demeulemeester (haunting, elegant, dark, innovative and somehow sophisticated)
00060m.jpg
00250m.jpg

10. Fendi (I feel like Fendi hasn't been interesting or relevant in a while now, but this season had a lot of personality in it, it was a step in the right direction)

Honorable mention to The Row for having possibly my favorite look of the season.

once again, we have entered a season where the fashion houses have fired along with all of their engines blazing. somehow, they have managed to completely change directions from last season with its neon colors, emphasis on the ladylike, and a return of the seventies, and give us something so much darker and so much edgier than we had ever expected. from my own personal perspective, the shows that resonated most deeply with me remain salvatore ferragamo and balmain. if i had the money, i'd ransack their boutiques.

but again, from a fashion junkie perspective, one has to give it up to those designers who tapped into the zeitgeist and found that fashion-as-fetish inspiration point and intepreted to such a covetable hilt. but before those, we must also acknowledge designers who had stand out collections that didn't fall into this narrative: these included burberry, proenza schouler, emilio pucci, the row, chloe, celine, and a new darker chanel.

and now, for my fashion for fashion's sake favorites this season:

1. marc jacobs for starting the season on this sexualized spin with that latex collection.

2. christopher kane at versus for sending out s+m dresses that are red carpet ready.

00040m.jpg

3. the return of thierry mugler with surprisingly wearable clothes with an oversexed attitude.

00080m.jpg

4. gareth pugh for reigning in his vision in line with the mood of the season.

00060m.jpg

5. a.f. vandevorst sent out a collection chocked full of those tie-me-up-tie-me-down extras.

00340m.jpg

6. even ann demuelemeester got into the sex game this season showing skin and tying her girls up.

00120m.jpg

7. givenchy for doing the job with the silhouette and the most unexpected turn in all of paris.

00390m.jpg

8. alexander mcqueen for delivering easily the most accomplished fetishistic presentation of the bunch.

00140m.jpg

9. and finally, louis vuitton for putting on giant exclamation mark on this trend with that night porter collection.

00020m.jpg

10. and, of course, haider ackermann who continues to raise the bar for everyone in fashion. even he injected his vision with the sex that has overtook the runways.

Paris has to have a bubbling under second 10 in that any of these collections would make the top ten of any other capital as follows

Alexander McQueen; Anthony Vaccarello; Chanel; Josephus Thimister; Limi Feu; Mugler; Nicolas Andreas Taralis; Sacai, Stella McCartney; YSL

Junya Watanabe's astounding collection sums up the season for me:heart::heart:
