The last movie I saw was Bande A Part (Band of Outsiders) by Jean-Luc Godard. I loved the style of the film, the cinematography and Anna Karina was gorgeous. The scene at the Madison is totally iconic, as is the part when they run through the Lourve. I loved that . What seem strange to me, though, was that when the heist was talking place, half the time it seemed like they were pretending, acting out of an old Western movie, other times they seemed serious about it .
Has anyone else seen the film?

Anna Karina is beautiful! Vivre Sa Vie (my life to live) is another really good film by Godard. Does anyone know what movie this picture is from, i really want to watch it.

i've seen Bande A Part and i thought it's almost cinematically flawless (my friends and i even tried to copy the Louvre run at a local museum ) except for that heist sequence which gave me the "what the hell's going on?!" feel :innocent:......but other than that sequence, i LOVe the film

For Christmas I believe my parents are buying me the Tennessee Williams collection on film-I am pretty excited!

^I watched it about one month ago in a film festival. I enjoyed the first half
of the movie but got disappointed with the ending. I was expecting it to go into a more romantic direction. I am shameless. :ninja: Also thought that little girl was annoying. But the romance part was really lovely. I think it's not gonna disappoint you. ^_^

I really want to see The Golden Compass. Mostly because of the supposed 'ban' on the film. :innocent:

i just saw it. i really don't see what this whole fuss is all about (the atheism undertone is not that blatant). the books are lovely, i suggest you read it. honestly, there's something off with the film itself. i actually did not have high hopes on this one (considering the director...:innocent:). the editing kindda gave me some shudders and Dakota Blue Richards is not spontaneous on her expressions (but i think far better than how Daniel Radcliffe is with Harry Potter :innocent:). Nicole is just brilliant as ever (this and Margot At The Wedding should revive her ailing career!). all in all, i liked the film. go see it

The little girl (Saoirse Ronan) was superb! She is supposed to be quite self-centred, precocious in some ways but very childish in others.

It was a very good movie but have me teary-eyed like some other people in the cinema.

I've been looking forward to this but I'm a big fan of the books so I sort of expect to be disappointed.

I also wouldn't say it's atheistic. The books are anti-organised religion but that doesn't really become evident until the second and third books. But a big part of the setup is the importance of spirituality - hence the daemons and so on.

Anyway it opens here today and I'll probably see it in a couple of weeks. I think I'll see Jesse James first before it disappears from the cinemas.

Imagine my disappointment when i knew the whole movie was actually about her. :yuk: But yeah the actress that plays her as a child is nice. :flower:

I guess you didn't read the book then. :p Never mind. Oh and that was meant to say "I didn't get teary-eyed". That's probably what stopped it from being a 5/5 movie for me.

Saoirse Ronan is in Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones adaptation next.

Harmony Korine made a new film called Mister Lonely, the trailer is on this website. http://misterlonely.gyao.jp/ it should play as soon as the sites finished loading in a little player on the right. I want to see it so bad! IFC is giving it a wide release sometime 2008. :flower:

how cute is she?!

i can just picture her when she gets older, sipping a cup of coffee and yapping on and on
