Kourtney Kardashian does her own brazilian hehe I want to try but i dont want to chicken out half way through!

ahhhhh that sounds like it hurts like hell to do it urself.
i got mine done last week and it was painful as i was stupid enough to actually shave for the past few months. so hair grew thicker:innocent:
anyway, everytime i get it done i tell myself, that s the way to go and then i fall off the wagon and shave again

I searched this thread (and manually scanned most pages) and I didn't see anything, but if I missed it, sorry and please direct me to the post(s).:flower:

I am curious about if anyone uses the no!no! hair remover on the bikini area and if they think it works. I have been getting waxed (completely) every other month or so for a few years and hoped it would make my hair grow less and thinner. Well, maybe it does somewhat, but I still get ingrown hairs which is ugly and painful. I think getting laser hair removal on just the bikini region is too expensive for me although that's probably the most promising option. The no!no! is something I always thought was too expensive too, but I am sick of dealing with ingrowns and I pay $60-100 for the waxes about 5-8 times a year so if it works it will be worth it. Any experience with it good or bad? Thanks in advance!:flower:

I just read a bunch of reviews on sephora and it sounds disappointing. Like a lot of time investment and it doesn't actually make hair stop coming back like professional laser hair removal. Maybe I will continue waxing and just try to exfoliate more and use some kind of soothing cream/gel thing after.

^ I think going natural is okay. I mean, it's NATURAL for goodness sake. But, different strokes for different folks as KiroTV would say.

Is shaving just not good enough for the bikini area anymore? Aren't we supposed to shave with the hair instead of against it? I read that in Seventeen magazine once upon a time.

I prefer groomed but natural on a guy... Something about its all being bare just kinda creeps me out. But if he has a hairy bum then THAT can go! lol

Hi everyone, I've just been reading through this forum - very insightful and informative! I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a salon that does brazilians in London? Thanks!

I think it's ok to be natural too, it's not a sin, it's natural and healthy. I just prefer smooth bareness. Honestly for me it's kind of a self-consciousness thing. I'm like a little kid "ew I don't wanna be hairy down there! I wanna be smooth!" But I don't judge or thing it's bad to go natural at all, I am just not comfortable with it myself. I think it's more the younger generation who expects it so much. It's like so regular to get waxes or shave or whatever for us it's like making a hair appointment or getting your nails done. It's a necessity. But my mom doesn't wax or shave and never did (she is the only example I can use since she's the only older woman I've seen naked:ninja: hopefully I'm not compromising her privacy too much). I think it's definitely generational to some extent to expect people to be bare.

And for guys I don't expect it so much. I appreciate grooming, but some hair kind of adds masculinity I think.

Also about the other comment, yeah I hear if you shave, go with the grain and don't try to get it too close. It will be less of a close smooth shave but you won't get the ingrown hair bumps and itching which is atrocious. It's a choice I guess between the instant gratification of a really smooth shave but bumps likely to follow or dealing with a little stubbliness but keeping the skin smooth and healthy.

How long does it take until the hair grows out (so that it's visible) when you wax [in a salon]?

I would say its fully visible after a couple of weeks... but I guess it also depends on how long you have been doing it for. Initially its quite patchy when its growing back

I usually shave it all off, but the hair grows back so quickly - the next day! and I hate having to shave it every day because i get razor burn, irritation, and in grown hairs. I tried at home waxing, but it hurt like hell. my boyfriend says he doesn't mind hair down there, but I feel much more comfortable when I'm completely smooth. what products work for you that prevent irritation?

I guess 3 or 4 weeks if you're just starting to wax. I have only started to wax it all off in the last 4 months or so and now it takes a lot longer.

As for products that help to prevent irritation, try aloe vera gel? I find that its very soothing.

I have this amazing woman who waxes me and literally gets EVERY hair. Yes, it is painful, but afterwards it feels amazing. It's so smooth and breezy. You actually feel a little cold... However it is expensive so lately I've been shaving. It grows back so fast though! I think I might start trying to wax myself... Get into crazy contorted positions with a mirror and some wax. Pretty much sounds like a blast... not!

I used to wax (not completely, just partially) - I still would but right now the scars from ingrown hairs are so unsightly that I'm thinking well, I know it'll grow back and cover the scars  Sure, being trimmed/clean down there would be nice but I feel far less feminine with scars than with hair.

I've been trying Vitamin E oil for scar healing. Anyone find anything else works well for scar healing "there"?

(can't believe I'm talking about this on a forum, LOL)

I wish I knew! I have the worst habit of attacking ingrown hairs and picking at them until there's a mini crater! But I wouldn't worry too much about scars down there... I think if someone goes down there the last thing on their mind will be scars :innocent:

I have so many scars, it's unbelievable, but nobody will ever be going down there again so it's not a huge deal to me.

I have a little tip for everyone who shaves and wants to avoid razor burn, rashes, ingrowns etc...
i have VERY sensitive skin, that i can't even wax because i break out in hives and pimples everywhere... so i shave my legs and "down there" but i don't use shaving cream... i use baby oil!!! it really works, the razor glides smoothly over the skin, and afterwards, ,my legs are fine!!! i have been using this for ages, so i suggest you give it a go if you shave...:flower:

^^Thanks for the tip!

Has anyone tried sugar waxing at home? From what I've read few girls like it, but usually the whole thing isn't very successful.
It looks messy, but I might try it on some rainy day.
